SALARY RANGE: $5,065 - $6,466 (Associate Programmer Analyst $4,619 - $5,897)

The Department of Finance CALSTARS is looking for an experienced, highly motivated Natural or COBOL programmer analyst to work on the development of new subsystems and enhancements to the statewide accounting system. We are conveniently located in downtown Sacramento close to Light Rail and all major bus routes. We offer flexible alternate workweek schedules, minimal overtime, and interesting/challenging work assignments.

DUTIES: Resolve, coordinate, and document system changes. Analyze, recommend alternatives and coordinate implementation of system changes and enhancements. Develop detailed program and system specifications. Develop programming modules and testing scenarios.
Provide technical and team leadership

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Work well independently and cooperatively as part of a project team. Extensive Natural or COBOL programming experience using ADABAS or VSAM. Understanding and experience with object and/or structured programming techniques. Expertise in general project management, IT concepts, practices, methods and principles.
