FIRST PARAGRAPH
Dramatic
As stated before one of the three characteristic that defines the American soul is Dramatic . In the
Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God, Edward was being so dramatic and over exaggerating
about God. Tell how God should be feared for what he can do, just the smallest thing you do
wrong you should be feared of your punishment just because of how powerful he is. “His anger
is as great toward them as to those that are actually suffering the executions of the fierceness of
His wrath in hell.” (Edwards 46) This text proves how Edward was kind of pushing the truth
about what happens to you if you sin. Also, He explains how God is so powerful you would not
want to sin over and over because it all builds up. For example, “the wrath of God is like great
waters that are dammed for the present; they increase more and more,....till an outlet is given.”
(Edwards 47). Again Edward tells about God and how his anger builds up and will release on
something. Lastly, Edward gives an example of how powerful God is and why you should fear
him.”If God should only withdraw His hand from the floodgate, it would immediately fly open,
and the fiery floods of the fierceness and wrath of God would rush forth with inconceivable fury,
and would come upon you with omnipotent power.”(Edwards 47) This text would proves that
Edward pushing the truth a little to far about what would happen if God would not hold back.
These are some text examples that show how Sinners in the hands of an angry god is dramatic.

SECOND PARAGRAPH
wicked

In The Hands Of An Angry God they do not care how they are punished, they give details about
how bad it will be. ”It would be dreadful to suffer this fierceness and wrath of Almighty God one
moment; but you must suffer it to all eternity. There will be no end to this exquisite horrible
misery. P.49" This text reflects relentless because they tell how there should be no mercy on you
and how there will not be an end to your misery. Also, there is no way out once you are in the
fiery pits of hell, you can not try to talk your way out. “The devil is waiting for them, hell is
gaping for them, the flames gather and flash about them, . and would fain lay hold on them.......
And they have no interest in any Mediator, there are no means within reach that can be any
security to them P.46" They do not have no means of letting you go once you reach hell, they are
just waiting for sinners. Lastly, you will suffer in hell for eternity and

“It would be dreadful to suffer this fierceness and wrath of Almighty God one moment; but you
must suffer it to all eternity. There will be no end to this exquisite horrible misery. When you
look forward, you shall see a long forever, a boundless duration before you P.49"

up. P.47
