Morning Prayer @ 8:30 a.m. – All worship participants gather for prayer each Sunday at 8:30 a.m. As we grow into a house of prayer for all people, you are welcome to join them any Sunday! Day Camp / VBS Sign-up Continues – Once again, Spirit of JOY will be hosting a Day Camp provided by a 5 person team from Lutheran Outdoor Ministries of Florida. The camp will target students completing grades K-5 with the theme: Listen! God Is Calling! Enrollment will be limited to 40 students. A VBS program for up to 15 pre-school children will be coordinated by Elizabeth Rodriguez with the theme: Great Bible Reef. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 11-15. Sign-up continues today so spread the word to your neighbors and friends. Youth and adult helpers plus people willing to donate snacks items are needed as are 2 families willing to house and provide breakfast and supper for the Day Camp staff Sunday-Thursday nights. New Journey Group Continues Today – The “Life Liners” is a Journey Group intended for anyone who wishes to increase their spiritual growth through Prayer, Scripture Reading and Fellowship (sharing thoughts on topics of concern and the scripture reading with others). Happy Birthday Church Celebration – Today is Pentecost, the Birthday of the Church! To celebrate, you’re invited to a community celebration at Woodbury Presbyterian Church at 4 p.m. When the Holy Spirit energized the Church on Pentecost, "tongues of fire came to rest on each one of them" (Acts 2:3) and what says "tongues of fire" better than chili? So there will be a chili cook-off and birthday cake…followed by a time of united prayer. Bring some chili or cookies or just yourself and join the fun! Woodbury is located at 1501 Woodbury Road (behind Waterford Town Center). Burundi Prayer Send-Off 10 a.m. Wednesday…Nightly Prayer Gatherings Planned – SoJ’s Prayer Vision Team is planning a Prayer Send-Off for our Burundi missionaries just prior to their trip to the airport. Everyone is invited to gather at SoJ at 10 a.m. Wednesday to pray with our team members and give them a rousing farewell! Beginning that night, and every night until the team returns June 11th, the Prayer Vision Team will have a prayer station set-up in the worship center. If you’d like to gather for prayer to support the team’s efforts to bring homes and a spirit of greater joy to Burundi, feel free to visit the worship center any night from 7 to 9 p.m. Pray for a short time or stay as long as you’d like. Join Hands Day, June 9th – This year SoJ and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are partnering to help repair and spruce up the Harvest of Hope Food Pantry. Our goal is to recruit 50 volunteers to landscape, paint, pressure clean, panel, and do other projects Saturday June 9th beginning at 9:00 a.m. Thrivent will provide $1000 to defray the cost of materials! On the same day that some of our members will be serving our Christian neighbors in Africa, it’s fitting that we join hands to serve our local neighbors as well! Interfaith Hospitality Network News!  Volunteer Meeting June 7th – An IHN volunteer meeting will be held 7pm Thursday, June 7th to obtain feedback and seek ways to improve the operation for our next hosting June 17-24. Previous volunteers and those who may be considering serving in the future are welcome to attend to learn more about IHN, the hosting week schedule and how your talents can be used in this caring ministry. Sign up at the Welcome Center so we know how many to expect.  Volunteer Sign-Up TODAY! – Starting today and for several weeks, the IHN team will be conducting position sign ups in the main hall way. Even though you may have signed up before, the IHN team is asking you to sign up again so they know which positions are filled. Also verify your information on the Volunteer Roster, as that is the only consolidated information that the IHN team has for reference in case of emergencies. There are approximately 120 positions that need filling to make the week a success. So, stop by the IHN TRIFOLD to talk to someone to see where your talents can fit in during the week. Written job descriptions will be available to help you decide. Stop by and see how you can help SOJ get ready for our 3rd 2007 IHN hosting of homeless families. Bicycle Ministry – This unique SoJ ministry provides bicycles to people in need. Volunteers are needed, meeting in the back storage room at 10am, the 2 nd Saturday each month, and 10am Wednesdays. Joy Singers – Our adult choir is open to anyone from high school age and up. We meet on Wednesdays from 7-8pm and will be preparing choral pieces for our current sermon series. Children's Choir – Our Children’s Choir will be taking a break for the summer following today’s performance of The Tale of Three Trees. Joyful Noise – Our Sunday morning worship team rehearses on Thursdays from 7-9pm. We are currently looking for an additional bass player and vocalists. Interested? Contact Phil Greve. Drama Team – SoJ's Drama Team consists of writers and actors who are interested in utilizing their talents in short skits to enhance the worship experience.
