For the first year of B.B.A. I have chooses the Kadvani Forge Ltd. For my industrial training. I have gone to the industry and collect all the information about the company. It is one of the leading industry of Gujarat. It is a medium scale industry. This training has helped me a lot about betting the knowledge of the company management. Kadvani Forge Ltd. Is one of the leading industriy of Gujarat. It is locatet at the industrial estate called Metoda near Rajkot city. It is a public limited company. It produces auto spares parts and forge equipments. The company has been established in 1995.

3. HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT
KADVANI FORGE LTD. is promoted by an industrial entrepreneur group having a track record of achievement by its product and services. It was established as a small scale industry and had received its commencement certificate on 2nd August 1995. After that in the year 199697, it has started its commercial production. It has established its forge shop in the area of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation under Lodhika estate. The company has all those facilities, which are essential for the good business. In the first year of its operation, the company has marked loss but it was to the high depreciation and recession period all over the world. After that the company has exported its industrial product in U.S.A. and it is well accepted. This export order has minimized the loss of the company and the company is now getting other export orders.

4. LOCATION
When a now industry is going to establish of when a unit is expanding its business, the main decision to be taken is of the location of the plant. The several consideration are taken care when the plant location is chosen. It includes both internal & external factors. Some of the major factors regarding the decision of plant location are as follows. # Supply of raw material # Nearness to market # Transportation facilities # Labour supply # Availability of power & Natural resources # Government facilities # Social factor So, looking to all these factors the KADVANI FORGE LTD. has established the plant in an industrial estate, Metoda. 1. INTRUDUCTION
Production plays a very important role in all the activities of company management. This is the first step of company management. All the business activities revolve around the production process. The production activity is nothing but the step by step conversion of one form of materials into another either chemically or mechanically. The basic inputs of the mines, farm, sea and forest are used as raw material on which the processing is cone to create the out put. According to E.S. Buff, production is a process by which goods & services are created. To deal with the production process the meaning of production management should also be clarified. Meaning of production management Production management is the process of planning organizing directing and controlling the activities of production function. Production function is the conversion of raw material into finished goods.

3. RAW MATERIAL
In KADVANI FORGE LTD., the production is done according to the orders of the customers. There fore, they buy raw material as per the orders of the customers. Generally, raw material are the materials used the production, which is in the unprocessed condition, e.g. cotton jute leather etc. KADVANI FORGE LTD. use billets as the raw material. 5.MANUFACTURING PROCESS

The main products or the company are forging components. The company is passed by the following procedure while manufacturing the forging components. First of all the company purchase the raw material from the various companies namely, Steel Authority of India Limited, Tata Iron & Steel Company Ltd, Kalyani Steel Ltd. etc. In addition to procurement of raw material, the company also receives the respective data about the raw materials and it is checked in their own laboratory. # Cutting Process: Here the raw material, which is in billets from, is cut into required length according to the cutting slip. For this the company is using electrical equipments for cutting the raw material and it has about 3 to 5 machineries for ramming this process smoothly. # Forging: In forging, first of all cut metal piece is heated in oil fired furnace, than die forging is done. In die forging, first of all die is fixed in hammer and the heated metal piece is kept on the die and the hammer with top half impacts in the metal thus the process of heating the cut metal and to give the shape of heated metal piece is called forging. # Heat treatment: After the forging process, the components are subjected to best treatment which removes the residual stresses that are formed during the forging process and this process is called heat treatment. # Shot blasting: Shot blasting process removes the scales formed during forging and heat treatment and the process of giving shining is done to the finished product of the company. After this whole process is done, final inspection of the finished products is done and than it is packed in wooden box. The well packed products sold according to customers order.

6. QUALITY CONTROL

KADVANI FORGE LTD. has its own inspection plan for all the components and its process at different stages of production. There are three stages for quality control in KADVANI FORGE LTD. 1. Incoming Material Inspection 2. Process Inspection 3. Final Inspection 1. Incoming Material Inspection All the material coming to the company from different sources has to undergo the process of inspection and testing as per plan before it goes to the stores. Raw material in coming from approved steel mills were kept in the stockyard and 100% visual examination is done. Chemical and physical testing was also carried out as per the plan or instruction of the customer in the laboratory. After approval of the material in the laboratory, color code is given to each bar of the same grade. 2. Process Inspection Inspection is carried out at every stage of production, e.g., die shop, cutting shop, forge shop, heat treatment shop. Each shop is inspected to satisfy the customer’s needs. # Die shop: Dies were checked before production and reports are kept in file for reference. # Cutting shop: All the cut pies were checked for the required cut weight to produce particularly part.

# Forge shop: Temperature in fianc was controlled by the temperature controlled provided with each and every finance. # Heat treatment: Direct supervision is done by qualified metallurgies and experienced chemist and skilled workers were working as per the work instruction and inspection plan. Certain pieces were selected from each lot of components passing through the process of heat treatment and were tested to confirm the hardness, grain size of the lot microstructure as per need of the customer. Heat treatment were equipped with temperature indicator and controller. 3. Final Inspection: All the forged parts coming to this shop are blasted and following inspection carried out as per plan. (1) Visual inspection for scale pit, folds, unfeeling etc. (2) Dimensional Inspection: - Critical dimensions like thickness, hardness, etc. were checked 100% (3) Layout: - Some of the pieces are fully laid out for dimension as per the drawings. (4) Packing: - Packing of the components was done according to the customer’s requirement.

Management is the development of people & not the direction of things. Management & personnel administration are one and the same. They should not be separated Management is personnel administration. Over a period of time, the importance of personnel management has been increasing so much that in large organization, there is a separate personnel department. The importance of personnel department in the industries is the incereasement of the numbers of employee. With the help of personnel department, an industry can train their employees & workers in the direction of achieving the organizational goal. Therefore, KADVANI FORGE LTD. has adopted the sound principle of personnel management for achieving the goal. In KADVANI FORGE LTD. about 150 to 200 employee & workers are working. They classified the workers in two ways. 1. 25% skilled workers 2. 75% unskilled workers

3.RECRUITMENT & SELECTION
No one can dispute the fact that a scientific approach is essential in the matters of selection, training and promotion of employees. As Rustom S. Davar has remarked, A good organization structure and good plan can be ruined by merely placing the wrong men on the jobs still affords a chance that they might be able to develop sound plans and a sound organization structure. According to flippo, Recruitment is the process of searching for prospective employees and stimulating them to apply for jobs in the organization.

Methods of Recruitment
KADVANI FORGE LTD. applies the following methods of recruitment in the company. 1.Recruitment through advertisement :when experienced employees are not available through other sources, companies resort to advertising. In this case, the most appropriate newspaper or journal can be used for the post concerned. They also use media for the advertisement of vacancies. 2. Recruitment through friend &relatives of present employees:This is a convenient source of lab our supply and helpful also in maintaining goodwill and of the present employees. 3. Employment Agencies: These employment agencies keep a record of the persons in search of jobs. They collect information from the employers about the vacancies. The employment agencies ask those candidates who are suitable for the job to contact employers. Thus employment agencies serve a link between the workers and employers.

4. SELECTION
After applications of required number of employees are secured through different methods of recruitment, selection process begins. The main purpose of selection procedure is to find the right man for the selection procedure is to find the right man for right job. A scientific procedure of selection requires the following two things. 1. Knowledge regarding the qualities, which a person should possess in order to do a given hob properly. 2. The evaluation of qualities possessed by a candidates for the job. Richard S. Uhrbrock has suggested a scientific order of different stage of selection as follows. # Intelligence tests: Intelligence tests are for measuring the intellectual capacity of the candidates. Sometimes oral tests are conducted. A simple asked sometimes written test are arranged intelligence question of tricky question are arranged. Intelligence tests are used with the advantage mainly for the selection of such candidates who are required for the post of accountant, advocate, professor, editor, secretary, manager etc. # Aptitude tests: These tests are for the purpose of determining the potential ability of an individual. Aptitude tests are given to measure the aptitude of the applicants towards job far, which they are being considered. Temperament tests are given to measure their nature and likes dislikes. # Personality tests: These tests are designed to judge the emotional balance and maturity of a person.

5. TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT METHOD
It is accepted by all that employees can be prepared for any job in an organization by training. Training is one of the effective instruments, which help to reduce wastage of resources, improves quality of the product and lessen the possibilities of accidents in the company. Training is an act of increasing the knowledge and skill of a worker for doing a certain job, according to Michael J. Jucius , “The term training is used here to indicate any process by which the aptitudes, skills and abilities of employees to perform specific job are increased.” # Objective of training 1. To improve the efficiency of the employees. 2. To increase productivity by imparting knowledge about the correct method of work. 3. To increase the skill of the employees and thereby help them in getting promotion. 4. To develop all the potentialities of the employees so that manpower planning may prove a success. 5. To include in the minds of the employees favorable attitudes to work. # Advantage of training: The advantages of training programmers are numerous. The major ones are as follows. 1. A trained worker gives improved performance. It results into an increase both in the quantity & quality of output. 2. Training leads to an increase in the skill and efficiency of the workers.

3. Trained workers handle machines and equipment much more carefully. 4. A trained worker shows a high degree of self-discipline and selfsupervision. This reduces supervision costs. 5. Trained workers can take necessary precautions to avoid accidents. Therefore, KADVANI FORGE LTD. has adopted the development & training of personnel as a continuous & ongoing process.

6. INDUCTION TRAINING
Once a candidate is selected and placed on a job, he should be introduced to the company, its policies and procedures, to his superiors and his coworkers etc. It is a welcoming process to a newcomer. When a new person joins the company, he is totally strange to the people working there, work place and work environment. According to Armstrong, induction is the process of receiving and welcoming an employee when he first joins a company and giving him the basic information he needs to settle down quickly and happily and start work. The following is the procedure of KADVANI FORGE LTD. of induction training. 1. Orient the new employees into job. 2. Ascertain training requirements of such employee to make them more competent for the jobs. 3. Review their performance in future. 4. Provide facilities for their further education & development. Induction training is the final step in their selection. Through this new employee is helped to adjust to the new environment & is made familiar with the KADVANI FORGE LTD. policies, objective, rules, pay day, hours of work etc.

7.WAGES & SALARY ADMINISTRATION
Wages & salary administration is the most burning problem of the employee. The objective of salary administration plan is to ensure equitable payment to all the employees. Wages & salaries are the remuneration paid to an employee for his work. The salaries can be paid in following two ways. 1. In consume with the respective value of the various jobs. 2. In terms of job performance. Wages are divided into two fundamental methods. 1. Time Wage: It is based on the amount of time spent for work by the employee, e.g., day, hour, weeks or moths. 2. Piece Wage: It is based on the amount of work performance, e.g. on the basis of output or productivity. KADVANI FORGE LTD. goes for both time wage & piece wage. They give their employee regular piece wage and above this extra production wage. Besides gratuity, pension, provident fund, they give bonus according to government rules which is 8.33% They also give increment in salary on merit base.

They provide the wages of Rs.5000 to Rs.15000 per month to skilled labors and Rs.2000 to Rs.5000 per month to unskilled labors.

8. MOTIVATION
Motivation induces a person to work. It is one of the most important factors for increasing the efficiency of workers. Motivation is the outcome of the process by which a manager induces others to work to achieve organizational objective as a means of satisfying their own personal desires. 9. EMPLOYMYEE BENEFIT & SERVICES
Employee benefit and services means the best services and benefit and services are very much essential for encouraging and stimulating employees and increasing there moral. Generally, the company is providing benefit in two ways, i.e. - Monetary incentives - Non monetary incentives The company is providing benefits & services to their employees as listed below. 1. Bonus: Generally the co. is providing bonus. According to the occasion, the co. is giving bonus to their employees in cash form at 20% of his salary of wage. 2. Canteen Facility: The co. is also providing canteen facility to all the employees. At regular interval, the various canteen facilities are providing to the employees. 3. Providing Fund Scheme: The co. is providing provident fund scheme to their employees. In practice, the co. cuts 12% from their salary and add the same amount and this amount is credited in the account of respective employee. 4. Bus Facility: -

The co. is located far from the Rajkot city and mostly all workers are coming from Rajkot city, so the co. is providing bus facility so that employees does not face any difficulty to reach to their factory and home. 5. Uniform Facility: The co. is providing uniform facility to the employees who are at operative level, i.e. the blue collared employees.

10. TRANSFER & PROMOTION POLICY
The employees are more concerned about the goal of the organization when they are motivated for their self-development. If the employee does not get step-by-step promotion, he is not interested in going his work. That why employees should be given promotion in terms of responsibility, authority, more prestige, status, greater skill, higher grade & salary etc. Generally, there are two kind of promotion. 1. Promotion given on the seniority base 2. Promotion given on the merit base They prepare a chart on the basis of job analyses, depicting promotion free (lines of promotion). This chart indicates the basic job requirements & how each job leads to another. On the basis of this chart, employees come to know in advance what is expected of them to deserve promotion to higher rated jobs & prepare themselves according to planned self development through self motivation. Promotion should be distinguished form transfer. Transfer to changes in jobs that involve little or no change in status, responsibility & pay. KADVANI FORGE LTD. hasn’t adopted any transfer policy.

11. TRADE UNION
Trade union is essentially an organization of employees to play the role of a collective agent for its own members, wages, hours of work, bonus, working condition, terms & condition of service and other problem affecting the employees. There is no trade union in KADVANI FORGE LIMITED.

12. TIME KEEPING SYSTEM
It is said that time and fide wait for none. It indicates that time is very important factor for everyone. Time is our most valuable asset. The purpose of time keeping system is to establish control and facilitate employees discipline. The system of time kipping means how many shifts are there and how many hour are they work in each shift of a day. KADVANI FORGE LTD. is very regular regarding the time keeping system. In Kadvani forge ltd. the manufacturing process is continuous for 24 hours. It has divided the total 24 hours of a day in 2 shifts, which constitutes each of 12 hours. The total working days in the co. are 300 days.

Marketing is typically seen as the task of creating, promoting & delivering goods and service to consumers & business. Marketing is in ten types of entities: - goods, services, experience, events, persons, places, properties, organization, information & ideas. According to social definition, “Marketing is a social process by which individuals and groups obtain what they need and want to creating, offering and freely exchanging products and services of value with others.” According to American Marketing Association, “Marketing is the process of planning and executing the conception, pricing, promotion and distribution of ideas, goods, services to create exchange that satisfy individual and organizational goals.”

Each product level must develop a marketing plan for achieving its goals. The marketing plan is one of the most important outputs of the marketing process. The content of the product planning of KADVANI FORGE LTD. is as follow. 1. Executive summary: It presents a brief overview of the proposed plan. 2. Current marketing situation: It presents relevant data on sales, costs, profits, market, and competitors, distribution etc. 3. Opportunities: It identifies the main opportunities, threats, strengths & weakness. 4. Objectives: Defines the plan’s financial and marketing goals in terms of sales, profit etc. 5. Marketing strategy: It presents the broad marketing approach used to achieve the objectives. 6. Action programs: It presents the special marketing program to achieve the objective. 7. Out come: It forecasts the expected outcome of the plan. 8. Controls: It indicates how the plan will be controlled.

PRODUCTION RELETED STRATEGY
Generally, there are three types of production related strategies. (1) Brand (2) After sales services (3) Strategy (1) Brand: Branding is a major issue in the production related strategy. Developing a brand product requires a great deal of long term investments, especially for advertising, promotion, packaging etc. The American Marketing Association defines a brand as follows, “A brand is a name, term, sign, symbol or design of a combination of them intended to identify the goals or services of one seller or group of sellers and to differentiate them from those of competitors.” A brand identifies the seller of market. It can be a name, trademark, logo or other symbol. (2) After sales service: A service is any act or performance that one party can offer to another that may be intangible and does not result in the ownership of anything. Its product may or may not be tied to a physical product. They want to install the new hammer heavier than this hammer. Next plan is to go to diversification in press forging, which in turn reduces per piece product rate. Co. is also going for B 19649.
