Generally there are 20 questions from Mathematics in the SAT paper and level of question is either average or hard. Questions are generally asked from five main topics i.e. Geometry, Algebra, Mensuration, Number System and Commercial. Syllabus covers the topics covered in class, VII and VIII. Main emphasis is on the syllabus of VIII. Number System: - Maximum number of questions asked from surds & exponents, H.C.F & L.C.M, classification of numbers, simplifications. Number of questions asked in 2007 is 6, 5 in 2008, 4 in 2009, 7 in year 2010, 8 in 2011. Generally the level of questions is medium, but in some questions student need to use analytical approach. Algebra: - Questions from polynomials & their factors, H.C.F and L.C.M, Linear equation in one variable, Identity based questions and sometimes questions based on quadratic equation. To solve this type of questions student must know how to use the given relation to find the required

things. Number of questions asked in 2007 is 2, 2 in year 2008, 3 in year 2009 and 2 questions in 2010 and 1 in 2011. Commercial: - After Number System next maximum number of questions asked from this topic. Generally one question asked from each S.I & C.I, Profit & Loss, Work & time, Time & Speed and Percentage. Number of questions asked in 2007 was 5, 5 in year 2008, 5 in 2009, 5 in 2010 and 3 in 2011.

Geometry: - One must prepare the Topics of Lines and Angles, Triangles, Quadrilaterals, and Circle. Questions asked in NTSE in past 4 years are 2 questions in year 2007, 2 in year 2008, 3 in year 2009, 5 in year 2010, 4 in year 2011. Mensuration: - Questions related to 2D and 3D. Question based on plane figure are more important than question based on solids. Generally the questions of Mensuration are not exactly formula based. There are 100 questions from Mental Ability in the MAT paper. Here two main topics are covered in MAT. (i) Verbal Reasoning (ii) Non-Verbal reasoning In verbal reasoning there are various topics Maximum number of questions asked in verbal from Series Completion. Generally the level of questions is medium, but in some questions students need to use analytical approach. Other topics in verbal are coding -Decoding, Alphabet Test, Ranking and Ordering, Puzzle Test, Blood Relation, Direction, Data sufficiency etc. In Non-Verbal Reasoning Maximum number of questions asked from Non-Verbal Series, Classification and Analogy. Other topics of Non-Verbal are which questions asked in the last 5 years paper is Mirror and Water Image, Figure Completion, Counting Figures, Venn Diagram, Syllogism etc. Out of the Both the parts maximum number of questions asked from Verbal Reasoning.

Light : Maximum number of question are asked from this topic. Number of questions asked in 2007 is 3, in 2008 is 3, in 2009 is 2, in 2010 is 2, in 2011 is 2. All the questions are concept based which include the numerical also. Heat: the level of questions asked is easy which include concept based questions and numerical also based on specific heat calculation .Number of questions in 2007 is 3,in 2008 is 3, in 2009 is 1, in 2010 is 1. Electricity : Number of questions asked in 2007 is 1, in 2009 is 3, in 2010 is 1, in 2011 is 2. All the questions are concept based which include match the column & Choose the correct Statement. Motion: Number of questions asked in 2007 is 1, in 2008 is 2, in 2009 is 1, in 2010 is 3, in 2011 is 2.
