April 1-30, 2012 Allstate Foundation: Allstate Foundation Financial Literacy Month 30-Day Challenge The Allstate Foundation and its national partner, National Network to End Domestic Violence, will launch a new, monthlong initiative in April challenging its followers on Facebook and Twitter to a 30-day financial fitness challenge. They will be providing tips, insights and ideas on how to cut, reduce or eliminate unnecessary expenses and save money. April 119, 2012, Humboldt, Tennessee, 9:00 am 2:00 pm BancorpSouth: Teach Children to Save Bancorp South will host classes on different days teaching children lessons from how to cut out unnecessary spending to fraud prevention techniques.

April 1-30, Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico and Texas BBVA Compass: Teach Children to Save and Get Smart About Credit BBVA employee volunteers will be delivering Teach Children to Save to K-2nd graders and offering the FDICs Money Smart classes through its branch network.

April 1-30, 2012, Massachusetts Citizens Financial Group, Inc.: Family College Access Program The Family College Access Program provides financial incentives (through matched savings accounts and other awards) and information (through Savings Circle educational sessions) to low-income families to give them the skills to guide their children to higher education.

April 1-30, 2012, Massachusetts Citizens Financial Group, Inc.: Interise Streetwise MBA program Interise will implement its Streetwise MBA Program to 75 new small employers in Boston, New Bedford, Fall River, Worcester and the Greater Merrimack Valley. The program includes small business executive training, peer-to-peer learning, coaching and networking.

April 1-30, 2012, Massachusetts Citizens Financial Group, Inc.: Merrimack Valley Housing Partnership's Project Genesis Project Genesis is a comprehensive series of training consisting of 10 hours of instruction on such topics as the mortgage application process, legal issues, home inspections, credit, budgeting, responsible ownership, insurance and other related topics.

April 1-30, 2012, Pennsylvania Citizens Bank Young Adult Money Smart The Fulton Robert School and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority are working together to bring all eight modules of the Young Adult Money Smart program to 11th and 12th grade students.

April 1- 30, 2012, Pennsylvania, 11 am 12 pm ; 4 pm 5 pm Citizens Financial Group, Inc.: Financial Education at South Philadelphia High School In partnership with Pennsylvania State Senator Farneses office, Citizens branch colleagues will conduct financial education workshops for high school students and individuals returning to school for their high school diplomas.

April 1- 30, 2012, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Citizens Financial Group, Inc.: Urban Affairs Coalition Workshops Working with the Urban Affairs Coalition in Philadelphia, Citizens colleagues will host financial education workshops at various organizations around the Greater Philadelphia area.

April 1- 30, 2012 Fifth Third Bancorp: Fifth Third Financial Empowerment Mobile Tours In a year-long initiative, Fifth Third Bancorp has two 40-foot retrofitted city buses equipped with Internet technology, known as Financial Empowerment Mobiles. April 1- 30, 2012 Fifth Third Bancorp: Fifth Third Financial Empowerment Mobile Tours In conjunction with its sponsorship of Dave Ramseys Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum, the Bank conducts Financial Empowerment Day presentations to students explaining how banks work, products and services available, and the importance of financial education.

April 1- 30, 2012 Fifth Third Bancorp: Young Bankers Club Sessions During April, Fifth Third bankers will enter fifth-grade classrooms throughout the Companys 12-state footprint to teach money basics, including the importance of saving and education. The curriculum is 10-12 weeks and includes a field trip to a Fifth Third Bank operations or financial center.

April 1 30, 2012 The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc: PNC Financial Education for Young Children A two-year initiative in financial education engages families, nonprofit organizations and communities in childrens learning. The activities across 42 PNC markets provide an early start to smart money management and introduce children to the concepts of spending, sharing and saving. April programs utilize employee volunteerism and include hands-on activities, play-acting, book readings, and teacher professional development.

April 1 - 30, 2012, Carlsbad, Chula Vista, Imperial Beach, Brawley and Oceanside, California Union Bank and Junior Achievement Partner with Boys & Girls Clubs In San Diego and surrounding areas, Union Bank instructors are teaching financial literacy to students of several Boys & Girls clubs, including Carlsbad, Chula Vista, Imperial Beach, Brawley and Oceanside, utilizing the FDIC MoneySmart and Junior Achievement curriculums.

April 1 - 30, 2012, Hollywood, Simi Valley, Watts/Willowbrook and Challengers, California Union Bank and Operation Hope Partner with Boys & Girls Clubs Union Bank and Operation HOPE are again partnering to teach the students of Boys & Girls clubs the basics of banking through the Banking on Our Future youth empowerment financial literacy program. During 2011, programs were completed with four Boys & Girls clubs Hollywood, Simi Valley, Watts/Willowbrook and Challengers. April 1- 30, 2012 Wells Fargo: Teach Children to Save Day/Hands on Banking classes Wells Fargo volunteers will visit classrooms and community groups around the country to deliver Hands on Banking financial education classes as part of the banks annual participation in National Financial Literacy Month and the American Bankers Associations Teach Children to Save Day (April 24). Wells Fargo devotes all of April to Teach Children to Save Day to encourage its volunteers year-round financial education efforts. The bank will also offer financial literacy tips throughout April on its Twitter page.

April 2, 2012, 9:00 am Capital One: Launch of Bank It Elementary Curriculum Capital One and Search Institute will launch Bank It Elementary, a free online financial education resource geared for children in grades 3-6 and their parents. The program empowers families to explore and talk about budgets, goals and strategies for making financial choices that count. April 2, 2012, Florida SunTrust: Children First FDIC Money Smart Utilizing the FDIC Money Smart module, "Financial Recovery/To Your Credit, teammates will facilitate a financial literacy session. Their Family First initiative provides family strengthening programs to further enhance the stability of the families supported by the organization.

April 3, 2012, Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, 10:00 am Comerica: Youth Savings Program Students will be able to open savings accounts and make deposits into their savings account in their in-school bank. Each student will record his/her transactions in their savings record, and will receive a quarterly statement.

April 3, 2012, West Virginia SunTrust: Goodwill Reality Check SunTrust employees will assist teens with different life stations which are part of Goodwill Reality Checks program. Stations include federal and state taxes, school loans, utility bills, child care, rent or mortgage payments, insurance, or other life expenses. Teens are then asked to choose a career path and marital status. Based on their decisions they are given a paycheck and visit the multiple stations to pay bills for the month. The goal is for each student to make it to the end of the "month" with money left over.

April 4, 2012, Connecticut, 8:30 am Citizens Financial Group, Inc.: Credit for Life Fair This financial-themed event, which is sponsored in part by Citizens Bank and designed to teach teens the basics about saving, spending, borrowing and independent living. Prior to attending the Fair, students choose their future careers and are assigned salaries, which they must live within the day of the event. As students make everyday spending decisions at booths such as housing, phone, transportation, food and more, they learn first-hand just how expensive it is to live on their own out in the real world.

April 4, 2012, Austin, Texas, 6:00 pm Comerica: Goodwill Financial Literacy Program Monthly financial literacy seminar offered to those individuals seeking assistance from Goodwill.

April 4, 2012, Sarasota, Florida SunTrust: Salvation Armys Life Skills In partnership with the Salvation Army's Life Skills for Recovering Addicts & 10 week residential program, weekly sessions are facilitated utilizing the FDIC Money Smart curriculum. These sessions are designed to help low and moderate income individuals enhance their financial skills and create positive banking relationships.

April 5, 2012, Houston, Texas, 9:00 am- 11:00 am Comerica: Golfcrest Elementary In-School Bank Day Comerica partners with Golfcrest Elementary to operate the Comerica Youth Savings Program.

April 5, 2012, West Virginia SunTrust: Dollars and Sense FDIC Money Smart This event teaches High School students about money management.

April 5, 2012, Los Angeles, California Union Bank: Teaching Financial Literacy at Avance Schools, Inc. Union Banks Los Angeles Main branch team taught a financial literacy class to a group of nearly 30 graduating high school students from Avance Schools, Inc., an independent public school funded by the California Department of Education that focuses on preparing students for college life. The class was part of a full day session that included a tour of the branch and an opportunity for the students to open accounts. Executive Vice President Leticia Aguilar, regional executive for Los Angeles and Central California, also addressed the class.

April 9, 2012, Howard County, MD BB&T Bank Bus Rolls In! The BB&T Bank Bus will be at the Howard County Housing Fair on April 14. High school students compete as two teams in a demonstration of Financial Football, which helps students and adults tackle their financial futures. April 20, 2012, Detroit, Michigan, 8:00 a.m. Citizens Financial Group, Inc.: Money Smart Week Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast A coordinated effort of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago - Detroit Branch and over 150 local organizations, Money Smart Week is a public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances. The Official kick-off recognizes the contributions of partners and includes a panel discussion titled "Perspectives on Local Economic Issues.

April 21 - 29, 2012, Detroit, Michigan Ally Financial: Money Smart Week Wallet Wise Sessions As part of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicagos Money Smart Week, starting April 21, Ally will host 12 in-person, free Wallet Wise financial education sessions in Detroit. Money Smart Week is a series of free classes and activities designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances and is celebrating its tenth anniversary. April 21, 2012, Springfield-Greene County, Missouri, 10:00 am- 12:00 pm BancorpSouth, Credit Report Workshop This program is part of Money Smart Week @ Your Library. It is a partnership between Springfield-Greene County Librarys EDGE mobile computing lab and BancorpSouth for a hands-on credit report workshop. Information is presented explaining credit reports, reporting agencies, what credit means, tips on improving credit scores, identity theft, etc. Library staff will concurrently assist with obtaining credit information online and printing credit reports.
