Two Worship Formats Offered – In an effort to offer more worship variety, we have made some modest changes in our morning worship. The 9am Blended Worship will return to our previous format, with Communion offered after the Bible reading and Children’s Message. This is a more traditional “order” of worship. The 10:45am Contemporary Worship will continue to utilize the “worship and praise music set” we have been using since last fall. To keep things simple for our Worship Team, there will only be minor changes in the music. We hope the changes are helpful. Welcome To God’s Family – In Holy Baptism at 10:45am today, we welcome Isabella Ann Ailene Eastwood, daughter of Nicole and Ian, into God’s family. May she grow daily in God’s grace! A Greater Gift From The Joyful Reader – Many of the gift items you see in your church bookstore are purchased from SERRV International, an organization that helps artisans and farmers from around the world support their families. When you purchase an item from SERRV’s catalog, you help others help themselves. The catalog features beautiful items for the home and personal use and Fair Trade coffees, tea, and chocolate. The Joyful Reader will be placing an order for the store and would be happy to include your order with it. You save the cost of shipping by ordering through us. Ask to see a catalog today. Burundi Missionary Team Sponsorships – 11 SoJ members are heading to Africa May 30th for a 10 day mission trip to build homes and help with a youth conference and a pastors’ conference. To supplement their personal resources, participants are recruiting sponsors from among family and friends. If you’ve been looking for additional ways to support the team, you’re invited to become a Team Sponsor. Forms are available at the Welcome Center. All donations are tax deductible. Make checks out to SoJ with Burundi Sponsorship on the memo line. Sponsors will be invited to a posttrip celebration to hear stories of God’s activity. One extra spot has opened up. If you have a valid passport and would be interested in going, speak to Pastor Jeff today! New Journey Group Starts Today! – This Journey Group is intended for anyone who wishes to increase their spiritual growth through Prayer, Scripture Reading and Fellowship (sharing thoughts on topics of concern and the scripture reading with others). Interfaith Hospitality Network News!  Volunteer Meeting June 7th – An IHN volunteer meeting will be held 7pm Thursday, June 7th to obtain feedback and seek ways to improve the operation for our next hosting June 17-24. Previous volunteers and those who may be considering serving in the future are welcome to attend to learn more about IHN, the hosting week schedule and how your talents can be used in this caring ministry. Sign up at the Welcome Center so we know how many to expect.  Volunteer Sign-Up TODAY! – Starting today and for several weeks, the IHN team will be conducting position sign ups in the main hall way. Even though you may have signed up before, the IHN team is asking you to sign up again so they know which positions are filled. Also verify your information on the Volunteer Roster, as that is the only consolidated information that the IHN team has for reference in case of emergencies. There are approximately 120 positions that need filling to make the week a success. So, stop by the IHN TRIFOLD to talk to someone to see where your talents can fit in during the week. Written job descriptions will be available to help you decide. Stop by and see how you can help SOJ get ready for our 3rd 2007 IHN hosting of homeless families. Because of your generosity, there will be no need for monetary or housing item contributions. THANK YOU and PRAISE THE LORD for your giving spirit!
