Greens added momentum:

Minty pastels and mid-tone jade took hold Sage was a warmer counter-trend in the middle range Deeps suggested hunter or evergreen Kelly-inspired hues showed how brights could also follow the cooling trend Lime countered this direction Out in force, it looked best with stark black Limone and neon green hinted at a role for next time

Jade stood out at Serax

Mint green lined black and white at Vista Alegre

Metal did not let up:

Trend Album: Ambiente 2012

Stainless steel was important It could be brushed to connect with kitchen-appliance preferences It was also polished to a chromed shine Cast iron was characteristically heavy Gold metal was not used too often That said, anodized gold aluminum looked fresh and modern Painted metal helped the cause of color It also played with pattern when laser-cut designs were used Painted sheet metal capitalized on myriad patterns Metal mesh displayed lots of texture when painted

Ceramic and Porcelain found new ways to drive trend:

Combinations were at the forefront Porcelain/glass addressed layering (see Glass above) Plastic topped ceramic storage containers Silicone was a key partner for serving/storage pieces Fabric was a new option Most ceramic/porcelain came glazed Matte surfaces continued to look sophisticated and upscale In some cases, designers used matte/luster as a vehicle, however this was not directional
