“People work more productively in teams than individually. Team work requires cooperation, which motivates people much more than individual competition does. “United we stand, divided we fall” , an adage we have been hearing since childhood days. As a student , we hardly come across situations which testifies this statement. But today as we have headed to the working arena where earning is directly proportional to working, we understand its value. A work with no effective output disqualifies for smart work. A smart work is the productive way of working where end output is inversely proportional to the time taken. A work better managed in less time is always appreciable and self satisfactory than a procrastinated work. Team work helps us to achieve our set goals a lot better. A labor man lifting bricks himself on subsequent floors of a building is no doubt involved in some sternous exercise but he will be highly benefitted if he involves two three people to help him out. Team work needs cooperation. It also requires mutual understanding, egoless behavior, complacency, satisfaction and contentment. No doubt some people are hesitant working in team work , the explanation for which can be reasoned with problems such as high personal values, egotism, introvertness, lack of confidence etc. Cleary, Team work explodes ones privacy and secrecy but all these factors don’t stand high in front of the effective, organized, satisfactory and reliable output team work produces. Team work is not just about assigning dedicated tasks to different individuals for a time period and then collecting the report from each , but it is about how people interact, communicate , mingle and adhere to fundamentals such as acceptance of decisions and results. It requires cooperation at each individual level. There are certain desirable outcomes of team work which includes high motivational level , group studies, better understandability, lack of misunderstandings and miscommunications . While some people condemn team work and prefer individual competition , some found themselves comfortable with team work so that their task gets distributed rather than remaining dedicated. No doubt individual completion motivates people to put their best foot forward but role of team work in uplifting ones morale cannot be neglected. Team work by virtue of regular and on deadline completion of assignments and tasks motivates and enthusize people to work more, while individually we often remain in thought process only and lingers on our own work .
So just by the fear of their secret inroads into tasks getting leaked , people demur team work and keep faith on individual competition but no doubt team work results in productive end output in less time and with greater satisfactory rate.
