The Result

The Result of His displeasure- Hag1:6-11 6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. 7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. 8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.

Hag1:6-11
9 Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house. 10 Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit. 11 And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.

The Disappointment of the people

Hag 1:6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. 5. Disappointments 1. Sow much bring in little : Lack of Fruitfulness 2. Eat - but not enough : Lack of Satisfaction 3. Drink - but not filled : Lack of Refreshing 4. Clothe - but not warm : Lack of Warmth 5. Earn wages - put in bag of holes : Lack of Resources

The Disappointment (1) Lack of Fruitfulness Are we bearing fruit in our lives? Fruitfulness? Gal 5:22,23 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, V23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Lack of Fruitfulness 2Pet 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Growing Together Eph 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord.

Lack of Fruitfulness How can we be fruitful? Jn 15:5 V2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. V4 As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. V5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Lack of Fruitfulness 2Pet 1:8 (DBY) for these things existing and abounding in you make you to be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; These things? faith virtue knowledge temperance patience godliness - brotherly kindness charity

Lack of Fruitfulness How much increase? Parable: Some 30 fold, some 60 fold & some 100 fold. Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Lack of Fruitfulness
Ye have sown much, and bring in little 1) Plowing - Prepare the ground To soften, hardened field. The seed can be sowed deeper and on soft soil. Take the yoke upon us and learn of Him. The animal understands the clear direction of the master and moves along. 2) Plucking the Thorns - Weeds: Mk 4:19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

Lack of Fruitfulness
3) Preparing the seed to sow. Seed is the word - Mk 4:16 Best seeds of earlier reaping season is kept aside for sowing in next season. 4) Planting the seed (Sowing). Fall on good ground. Not left to chance. Sown or planted rightly in the right place. Casting the net on the right side. Jn 21:6 5) Pouring / Watering: Have compassion on souls. Water the ground with tears for perishing souls

Lack of Fruitfulness
Eph 6:19 Pray - that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly Col 4:3 Pray - that God would open unto us a door of utterance Mt 11:38 Pray Lord of Harvest will send labourers into his harvest Ps 126: 5, 6 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him

Lack of Satisfaction
Ye eat, but ye have not enough Many special meetings, seminars, programs for --------, camps etc. etc. Feeding: 1Pet 5:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby It is not enough if you see the food, to be satisfied you have to eat. Feeling: If the word touches you or hurt you take it positively as from the Lord instead of being offended. Allow the Spirit of God to touch you and stir you up.

Digesting: Fed to the full. Yet not satisfied. Why it doesnt stay there. There is no proper digestion. No proper chewing the cud. Lev 11:3 Go back and meditate on what we heard or read. See if you have to mend our ways. Doing: We hear and not do. Jam 1:22. Phil 4:9; Those things which ye learned, received & heard and seen in me, do. Teachers example We preach and do not practice. How often we hear the remark We preach what we do not fully believe. One on Trinity - convincingly said I dont believe. Ac 1:1- Lord; 1Cor4:17 Paul; Ezr 7:10; Ct Mt 23:3 Pharisees & scribes they say and do not.
