The Government of Tamil Nadu created a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for implementing the Chennai Metro Rail Project. This SPV named as Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) was incorporated on 03-12-2007 under the Companies Act. It has been converted into a Joint Venture of Government of India and Government of Tamil Nadu with equal equity holding. Apart from the Basic Pay, DA (IDA Pattern), HRA (30%), Allowances (35%) and other benefits will also be paid. Age may be relaxed for the exceptional candidates. Qualifications and Experience: Post No.1: Deputy General Manager (Operations) 01 Post Must be a Graduate Engineer in Electrical Engineering or Electronics or Communication Engineering or a combination of any of these disciplines. Minimum

10 years overall experience in Railway Operation in Electrified Sections with Automatic Signalling System in Main Line Railway Divisions OR minimum 5 years overall experience in handling Operations in any Metro Railway. Experience in Operation of EMUs, managing operation control centre (OCC), in management of EMU Car Sheds in Main Line Railway Divisions OR experience in Operation of trains in Automatic Signalling Territories with Train Management System in Main Line Railways will be an added advantage. Must have adequate experience in handling / managing works / service contracts. Exceptional candidates with wide experience, working at senior levels now, can be considered for appointment as Joint General Manager with scale of pay of Rs.36,600 -62,000 at CMRLs discretion. Age: Not above 40 years as on date of advertisement. Post No. 2: Deputy General Manager (Train Control & Safety) 01 Post Must be a Graduate in Science or Maths. Post Graduates will be preferred. Minimum 10 years overall experience, out of which atleast 3 years in the Managerial Cadre in Railway Operations and Train Control in Electrified and Automatic Signalled territories in Main Line Railways OR Minimum 5 years overall experience in Managerial Cadre in train Operation in any Metro Railway. Should have been directly involved in managing day to day Train Control and Supervision, Punctuality, Time Tabling, Master Charting of trains and Crew Management. Should have good knowledge of all Safety Rules, Accident / Disaster Management and related procedures and Training of Operation Staff. Age: Not above 40 years as on date of advertisement. Post No.3:Deputy General Manager (Signalling & Telecommunications) 01 Post Must be a bachelor in Electronics & Communication Engineering with minimum 10 years experience including experience in contract management, design, installation, testing & commissioning of metro or main line railway S&T system. Should have signalling project experience in tendering, design, installation, testing, commissioning and operations / maintenance of Metro /main line railway with distance to go/CBTC, TPWS with electronic interlocking, route relay interlocking having AFTC and other AC/DC track circuit. Experience in tendering , design, installation and commissioning of backbone OFC, copper and other cables, SDH, digital, analogue, HF/VHF, microware, MUX equipment ; TETRA equipment, commissioning of LAN, WAN, server equipment , various types of digital and analogue exchanges, Public Address System, Audio/video surveillance systems will

Degree holder in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering with 10 years of experience preferably in Rail Transit Tunnel/Station Ventilation and Air-conditioning, Control System of ventilation / air conditioning installations and other MEP plants in underground railway projects. Similar experience in a large dynamic environment like Airport with heavy passenger movement and automated equipments in elevated and underground structures may also be considered. Job involves resolving technical issues related to design review and facilitate installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of Rail transit Tunnel ventilation and station Airconditioning. Familiarity with usage / analysis of Tunnel ventilation design software, Fans and controls, SCADA, Fire safety code NFPA, AMCA, ASHRAE, CENELEC & other codes will be an added advantage. Should have exposure to Energy Management, Quality Management, Safety and Environment Management. Knowledge in Autocad, MS Project and Excel Preferred. Age: Not above 40 years as on date of advertisement. Post No.5: Deputy General Manager (Architecture) 01 Post Must be B.Arch graduate. Should have at least 10 years of works experience in Architecture design of underground / elevated stations from Metro Rail System. Age Not above 40 years as on date of advertisement. = Familiar with design aspects of life safety and fire safety requirement in design implementations and material selection. = Experiences with design / construction of various elements of Architectural finishes for flooring, cladding, glazing, ceiling system, room layout and partition, rooms interior design, station signage, subway design and finishes. Selection of materials for various element of Architecture finishes, adhering to public safety. = Management of contracts relating to the large infrastructure projects. = Should have knowledge & skill in management of FIDIC Conditions Contract/International CIvil construction Contracts. Quality Control & Assurance System in Architectural finishes, Safety Implementation, Programme Monitoring, IS/International codes for Architectural finishes. = Exposure in use of the design software like CADD, Photoshop, 3D Max, Revit etc.

Post No.6. Manager (Project Planning) 01 Post Must be a B.E graduate in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 07 years of experience in execution and monitoring of large scale infrastructure projects. The incumbent should be familiar with planning, budgeting, scheduling, billing, costing, quantity surveying and supervising the works of the contractor. Knowledge in MS project and Primavera software is desirable. PMI Certification would be an added advantage. Age: Not above 38 years as on date of advertisement. Post No.7 : Manager (Contract Management)-01 Post Must be a Graduate Engineer in Civil Engineering with minimum 7 years overall experience, out of which he should have worked as Assistant Manager / Manager or equivalent position in Railway / Highway Projects / other Infrastructure Projects involving construction supervision, project management, contract management, preparation of variation orders, settlement of claims and disputes. Experience as Manager (Contracts) or equivalent position for atleast 2 years in any one External Aided Projects (WB/ADB/JICA) adopting FIDIC Conditions of Contract, in framing or implementing the Contract. Age: Not above 38 years as on date of advertisement. Post No.8 :Executive (Document Control) 02 Posts Must be a graduate in any discipline. Degree in Computer Application will be given preference. Minimum 02 year of experience in handling project related documents (both hard copy to Digital) and document management. He should have assisted Project Manager in large Infrastructure Project. Candidates with skills and experience in using Project Document Management/ software such as MS share point will be preferred. Candidates will be absorbed permanently based on performance on completion of the contract period. Candidates from Railways/ PSUs can be considered for absorption with a probation period of 01 year. 4. In order to regulate the number of candidates to be called for the interview, if so required, the Management reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standards/criteria, or to relax the minimum eligibility standards/criteria including age limit in otherwise suitable candidates depending upon the response to the advertised posts. 5. Merely meeting the above qualifications and experience shall not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. Only short-listed candidates will be notified for interview. CMRL reserves the right to shortlist the candidates. 6. Depending on the requirements, the Company reserves the right to cancel/curtail/increase the number of vacancies without any further notice and without assigning any reason thereof. 7. No TA/DA will be paid by CMRL to the candidates for attending the interview. 8. Acceptance or rejection of application of the candidates will be at the sole discretion of Management. Candidates attempting to influence or interfere with the selection process will be rejected summarily and be declared disqualified for future CMRL recruitments. 10. Persons already working in Government / PSU organisation should give an undertaking that , if selected they will take voluntary retirement/resignation from their present service and join CMRL without undue delay.
