Guidelines for Oral/Podium Presentations

Adventures in Qualitative Research:

Traversing with Trustworthiness Towards

Evidence-based Practice

1. Presenters should be present at the assigned room 15 minutes before the presentation. 2. Although the concurrent sessions are centered on typical oral presentations, ICQRNH allows plenty of time for discussion between all session participants (audience and presenters), not just a Q&A between the audience and the presenters. 3. The session chair/facilitator has the major task of keeping speakers on time (15 minutes to 20 minutes maximum, unless instructed) and leading the subsequent discussion. 4. The session chairs will be STRICT in the enforcement of the time limit. If the presenter goes over, he will be cut short. ICQRNH believes that great ideas and research can be communicated in short time intervals. 5. After the presentations are finished, a 15-20 minute-Q&A between the audience and the presenters is allotted. 6. The session chair will be summarizing the results of the sessions. 7. Some additional recommendations for the presentations include the following: maximum of 15-20 slides keywords or phrases instead of long text large (and consistent) font size and graphics (with good contrast)

Guidelines for Poster Presentations

Adventures in Qualitative Research:

Traversing with Trustworthiness Towards

1. All posters must be set up on Wednesday 28 November 2012 (adhesive materials will be provided on site). 2. All poster presentation will be posted during the entire duration of the conference. 3. At least one of the authors must be present at the assigned poster during the official poster session hours (7:30 8:30 AM and 12 PM to 1 PM). 4. Individual hand-outs relative to poster presentations are encouraged. 5. Design of poster must be self-explanatory when authors are not available to answer questions. 6. Poster dimensions should be 3 feet (width) x 4 feet (length). Title of Presentation should be located at the top of the poster. Authors names and affiliations should be listed directly below the title in a smaller font with their contact details. 7. All text should be written in Times New Roman, Arial or any easilyread font style. Avoid fancy fonts. 8. Poster must include relevant and needed information for presentation. (Introduction/Significance, Methodology, Findings and Conclusion) 9. Important information should be large enough to be seen from 6 feet away. 10. The poster exhibit will remain open for the duration of the conference. 11. IQCRNH reserves the right to have the copy of the poster presented for documentations purposes.
