Teaching Experience
Substitute Teacher (K-12), CLARK COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, Las Vegas, NV; 2011-Present Key Contributions & Educational Outcomes: Filled in for permanent teachers at a moments notice; closely adhered to lesson plans; and kept students motivated, engaged and focused. Voluntarily stepped in to run several after-school programs (e.g., girls volleyball coaching, cheerleading coaching and after-school tutoring) when permanent teachers were unable to fill these roles. Student Teacher, Silverado High School, Las Vegas, NV; Jan 2012- May 2012 Key Contributions & Educational Outcomes: Taught using iPads to incorporate technology into the classroom. Was constantly observed from various CCSD employees that wanted to observe how technology is being used in the classroom. Was observed by teachers and employees from Canyon Springs High School, Curriculum and Professional Development Center, and the head of Technology for the CCSD. Was exposed to the concept of flipping the classroom. Long-term Substitute, Liberty High School, Las Vegas, NV; September 2011- December 2011 Key Contributions & Educational Outcomes: Taught using iPads to incorporate technology into the classroom. Taught Algebra 1 for all five periods. Experienced different classroom management styles, different procedures, and different ways of organizing and transitioning the classes. Learned how to use a lot of the programs and technology used in the classroom. Became proficient in ClassXP, Easy Grade Pro, and uploading to Parentlink. Was also awarded a Certificate of Appreciation and Recognition for Co-Teaching.
