ROSEMONT PTO Nominations & Elections for 2012-2013

 I want Rosemont Elementary Middle School to be one of the best schools in Maryland. I want my child to have a great school year – to learn and to have fun! I want to help decide how PTO fundraising monies are spent. I want all the students at ROSEMONT be successful. Nominate yourself or someone else. All positions can be shared. Treasurer - Helps develop a budget,
collects fundraising money, writes checks for purchases and reimbursements, tracks all income & spending, makes financial reports at meetings, prepares books for periodic audits.

dates for officer positions must be present. Positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Chairperson.
Officer Duties

If the above statements are true, then “help us help the school”. Parent involvement is critical for a successful school, volunteer as a PTO officer or a committee chair for 2012-2013. There are jobs that take no more than a couple hours a month, some that are seasonal, and a few that require a routine commitment. Dedicated teachers, staff, and PARENTS help make Rosemont Elementary Middle School a great school! Join us – it’s rewarding, it’s important, it’s even fun!

President – The president presides at general & executive board meetings, acts as a liaison with the principal, & oversees the work of the PTO executive board. The president should be visible, well-organized, and able to delegate.
Vice PresidentThe VP assists the president and steps in for the president as needed. Other duties as assigned. Pick up slack where needed.. The VP is often getting ready to take on the presidency the following year. A key challenge of

Financial experience or aptitude is vital. Experience in accounting or banking is helpful. The treasurer should be at all PTO events where money will be collected Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are important, Knowing Excel is important. Treasurer acts as a bill collector for bad checks & sometimes says no when people seek funds. Chairperson – Committee chair duties vary widely, from heading up a short-term event like the book fair to running a group's major annual event, such as an auction. Committee chair recruits & oversees volunteers, keeps track of spending, plans, evaluates the event after it is over, & reports to the PTO executive board.

Elections will be held at the PTO General Meeting on Thursday, May 23 at 5:30 in the school cafeteria. All candidates for officer positions must be present. Please return this form to your child’s teacher or to the school office by May 18TH. We will contact all those nominated on Saturday, May 19th to inform them of the nomination.
