by Marge's Lakeside Inn on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 11:01am · As some of you are aware, last season we stopped letting people in from the North (boaters) due to trespassing, disrespect of peoples property...etc. We are going to retry allowing people come in to enjoy Marge's from the lakeside, but there are rules that must be followed. The Sea Breeze Neighborhood has met with Iron. Police, Coast Guard, Sheriff's Marine Unit and local government. They assure us that patrols will be stepped up and new procedures put in place to deal with excessive noise, underage drinking, BWI's will be issued among several other laws on the water. It's a beautiful, unique area and can be shared by everyone if people can just accept that there are a few boundries and rules. (as with anything else in life) The beach IS private and when you come ashore you are basically in someone's backyard. If you are coming to Marge's Lakeside Inn we suggest the following: * Anchoring no less than 100 feet from the shoreline. (included jet ski's, pontoon boats...etc) No vessels are to be"beached" on shore. * When coming to shore for entry, please walk at water's edge (do not trespass on anyone else's beach) to our back, roped in entrance nearest the water. * You will need valid photo ID, shirt & shoes. * Must be 21 or over to be on property. Property = to water's edge. * No alcohol can be brought onto or taken off our property for any reason. NYS law!! * We are not a "cut through" or public restroom. You can use the public area at the end nearest the pier for public restrooms, getting supplies...etc. At peak times, there will be a cover charge for entry. We also may not permit beach/boater entry after 7pm. * Backpacks, duffle bags etc. will not be permitted. * Do not cut over ropes for any reason coming to or exiting from Marge's. (if you are going to see a neighbor, please use entryway at shoreline and walk accordingly). * Any disrespect will not be tolerated whatsoever to us or to the residents of The Sea Breeze Neighborhood. * We reserve the right to deny entry or service to anyone at anytime, especially those who are considered to be "rocking the boat".
If we are all mindful of our conduct on sharing this waterfront treasure, it should all work out. : ) Thank you and see you in the sun! : ) Like · · Share
