Barron for Coroner Saving Lives

Frank is a life-long Republican, who will take the office of Coroner to a higher level. He finds many ways to use his vast experience to initiate and expand LIFE SAVING programs. 

Republican – Frank is a life-long Conservative Republican and a Co-Founder of SC Citizens for
Life. As Coroner, Frank will treat your tax dollars with care. There will be a reduction in spending by the Coroner’s Office.

Service – Frank Barron was appointed Coroner in 1978 by Governor James B. Edwards and
was reelected five times. During his 22 years as Coroner, Frank investigated 30,000 deaths. Among his peers, Frank was elected seven times as the SC Coroners Association President. Throughout his tenure as Coroner and afterwards, Frank worked for tougher DUI laws, Child Restraint laws and to make our roads and railways safer. Frank is believed to be the first in the country to rule a death Suicide-by-Cop, helping to protect law enforcement from dangerous criminals. Frank chaired the Child Fatality Review Committee, and is a founding board member of the Red Cross Tissue Transplant Service.

Lexington County – Five years ago, Frank made Lexington County his home and
wholeheartedly began to serve the community. Frank became a member of the Lexington County Community Emergency Response Team. He is a member of the West Metro Rotary Club as well as the Lexington, Batesburg-Leesville, Chapin, West Metro, and Irmo Chambers of Commerce. Frank is the Employers Support of the Guard and Reserves (ESGR) volunteer with all five Lexington County National Guard units. Frank is an alumnus of The Citadel and USC. He is a member of the Lexington County Republican Party where he serves as president of West Columbia Precinct 1.

How Can a Coroner SAVE LIVES?
Using his experience, Frank has, and will continue to, proactively initiate Life Saving programs. Frank has fought for many life saving laws such as seat belt laws and child restraint laws. Frank supports programs that SAVE LIVES. Some of these programs include:  Alive at 25 - - Alive at 25 is a proactive driving class that teaches teens safe driving. Already in 1/3 of South Carolina high schools, the rate of teenage fatalities has dropped 41%. Frank has helped Brookland Cayce and Airport high schools offer Alive at 25. Frank is working with others to expand Alive at 25 into all Lexington County High Schools to SAVE LIVES. American Foundation for Suicide Prevention – - As a S.C. Suicide Prevention board member, Frank works to spread awareness of the signs that come with potential suicide. By educating citizens on the signs of potential suicide, we are able to Save Lives. Roadway Advocacy - Frank advocates for traffic safety. He supported “Highways or Dieways” and “MADD.” Frank actively works with officials to correct road hazards. Frank has reported on the deterioration of bridges, the need for signals in dangerous locations, and drainage problems that can cause hydroplaning and accidents. These common sense roadway corrections SAVE LIVES.

Frank Barron is uncompromising in his values and knows that Lexington County deserves an active Coroner who personally goes on calls, and accurately determines the cause and manner of each death he investigates. Frank is passionate and proactive about applying his knowledge and experience to the prevention of deaths. Frank will SAVE LIVES as Coroner.
