When a lease is coming up for renewal, a Landlord's Notice of Non-Renewal tells your tenants that their lease will not be renewed and that they will need to move out when the lease ends. As a landlord, one of the hardest things is dealing with an unwanted tenant, but giving notice of non-renewal is a way out if you need one. Many times a landlord will allow a tenant to remain on the property simply because it is easier than trying to replace them. But you shouldn't feel obligated to renew a lease with tenants who are not living up to their responsibilities. When a lease is about to expire, the notice of non-renewal is the first step to getting better tenants.

    NOTICE OF NON-RENEWAL OF LEASE

    April 24, 2012 Alex R. Olsen Ryan B. Jagger 60 Arthur St. San Rafael, California 94901 TO TENANT(S) AND ALL OTHERS IN POSSESSION OF THE PREMISES LOCATED AT: 60 Arthur St., San Rafael, California 94901 PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the lease under which you hold possession of the above described property will terminate pursuant to its own terms on May 31, 2012 and will not be renewed for a new term, nor allowed to be converted to a month-to-month tenancy. Please do not tender any money that will pay rent beyond the end of the term. Please further be advised that any money tendered, if accepted will have been accepted in error and will be returned. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that you are required to surrender the premises to Rob Mackabee upon the termination date.
