The Faculty of Science offers an Honours Bachelor of Science degree program in Physics, including Comprehensive Physics and specializations in Energy and the Environment, Forensic Physics and Medical Physics. The Faculty also offers Honours BSc programs in Applied and Industrial Mathematics, Biological Science, Chemistry, Computing Science and Forensic Science, as well as Concurrent Education and Science programs in conjunction with UOITs Faculty of Education. MSc and PhD programs are offered in Applied Bioscience, Computer Science, Materials Science and Modelling and Computational Science. The Faculty of Science invites applications for a tenured or tenure-stream position in Physics at the Associate or Assistant Professor level. This position is subject to budgetary approval, and would start at a mutually agreeable time but not later than January 1, 2013. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct active and innovative research programs and to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In keeping with a technology-enhanced learning environment utilizing laptop computers and wireless technology, UOIT seeks faculty who strive to explore and develop new pedagogies. Applicants at any levels are invited to apply, especially if their research expertise is in materials science, in areas such as energy storage materials and devices and nanotechnology, which are strategic directions at UOIT. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Physics or a related area, a strong academic background, and a record of excellence in research.
