Class Prophecy After an exhausting coverage of the World Peace talks, I decided to take a leave from my position as CNN

International Correspondent. I wanted to take some well-earned rest after chasing diplomats in the summit. For many years now, I have always wanted to write a book on the whereabouts of SAA Batch 1995 and I finally found the right time. I took a plane and began my journey back to the school where I graduated from 15 years ago before boarding the plane to Legazpi, I noticed a familiar looking guy approach me. I could not believe that it was JOSEPH BAS. He told me that he works as the manager of the San Eagle Basketball Team. My scheduled flight was ten minutes behind schedule, so I bought the latest issue of the Phil. Free Press, wanting to read the article of my favorite editor, JASMIN BANZUELA. I scanned the pages and a beautiful picture caught my eye with the caption: ELEANOR RODENAS; career woman of the year. She looked as beautiful as she was 15 years ago. After several inquiries from the management, the plane was now ready to take off. I sat on 12B, near the aisle, and decided to take a nap. Before I could even close my eyes, a stewardess tapped may arm. It was PAULIN IMPERIAL. She told me that HYACINTH MARTILLANO, KAREN RIBAYA, & KAREN ALMAZAN were international flight attendants of Pan Am. From her I gathered that the pilot of the plane was Capt. AUGUSTUS DAGBAY. Suddenly, I heard the captain speaking. Because of some engine trouble we were to make an emergency landing in Cebu. We were billeted at the Cebu Plaza, now owned by the successful team of JOHN PAUL AVISO, a world class chemical engineer, CHERRY GAPAYAO, a successful lawyer, and the millionaire LOUIE MARK GARCIA. From them I learned that businessmen WARREN AZOTEA, MICHAEL ALTEA, RONALD REYNON and ANTONIO ORDOA frequent the place. Cebu is a busy place even at night. I dropped by a night place only to find out that the band playing was composed mostly of former classmates: KOUROSH SE on drums; STEPHEN LLANTINO on guitar and BONI AVILA and sweetheart MICHELLE ULANGCA, the lead singers. It was nice to listen to them this time. They were no longer playing loud music. And I guess its really true that people mellow down as they mature. The owner of the place, CHINEL DELAVIN, was mingling with fellow entrepreneurs: DONNA GALAROSA, LEAH BONACUA, SHARON LAGBAO, and GLECY PALMIANO. In another table, fashion designers TET ALTEA, FLOREZA ANTE, KATHLEEN ARISPE, and MAE MENDINA were discussing the new set of wardrobe launched by VICTORIA DIAZ.

The following day we were ready to fly for Legazpi. Thank God we had a nice flight. After a few hours of rest, I decided to go to SAA, for the first time after graduation. I was terribly shocked to see pregnant Ms. Minnie, Ms. Ella, and Ms. Bilan, to my surprise, looking young as ever. My God these teachers never grow old. From them I learned that I was in time for our class reunion at the plush Legazpi Intercontinental Hotel to formally organize a foundation. On my way to the Hotel, I spotted a billboard sign: MERILLES MOTORS: Always on the Go. Then I remembered MEL JIM, my schoolmate and thought he might be the owner. Suddenly two speeding cars caught my attention. In its sides were the label Luz Catering Services. That must be from our caterer LUZ BIEN. Before I could say anything, MARICEL ASEJOS services mobile car and JOAN GUAMOS Food on Wheels came rushing by. Food, food, and more food I was then reminded of a dietary column of Asia week columnist CATHERINE OPIDA. Food really moves people from all walks of life. Then I heard a thumping noise. Flat tire! I had to stop at the nearest servicing station. RODOLFO ESPINAS, the owner, assured me that the repair wont take long. I was quite patient in waiting but then I saw CHRISTINE MIAS, the regional accountant of the Dept. of Tourism, boarding her car. I rushed to her and hitched a ride; she told me that DOREEN CASTUERA has been transferred from Manila to Legazpi as the chief accountant of the BIR Regional office. As we drove through Rizal Street, a three-story building loomed into view. It was an Eye Hospital. On close view, I saw MARY MAY DELA CENA the ophthalmologist and owner on the doorway, welcoming some eye specialists CRISTINA PAULINO, CATHRINE LORIA, MELODY CAMACHO, and JESAMINE LORENZO were leaving the branch office of ZUELLIG Pharmacy. At last we reached the hotel as we entered we saw some friends grouped together in the parking lot KRISTINE ROSE PLETADO., MICHELLE FLOTILDES, GENEVIEVE NIEVES and MICHELLE DEMETRIOU talking about their recent trips to U.S. of A. About to join them, were STEPHANIE VILLAFLORES, SARA JANE MENDEZ, CHILE LOPO, JOANNE SARILLA, MARY ANNE VICENTE and MALOU YANZON, the lady dentists of Legazpi. I was startled by the voices over the microphone: Paging Lt. Col. and Mrs. ROEL RETUERMA. Please proceed to the registration office where Majors LLOYD LIM, ALBERT TAN, and ERLENE GUAZON are waiting for you. Though I wasnt needed, I too rushed to see my former classmates. As were trying to organize ourselves, RENNE CLEMENTE barged through the door and came towards us. She just had a conversation with Best Actress Awardee JACQUELINE ELAGO who was busy shooting a movie with upcoming star, ALEXANDER DELA CRUZ. The movie was being directed by CHRISTINE QUIJANO and ADRIANO OSORIO, she said. Five minutes later, doctors CHERRIVI BANDOL, MICHELLE BELGA and SHARON BUENA asked us to go inside the conference room. Computer engineers ANSLI MADRID, CECEILIA ARROYO, and XANDRA MENESES joined us along the way.

Inside PEACH MORATO, FLORIELYN MASARATE, and GERARD AGNO, THE RECEPIENTS OF THE ARTIST AWARDS DURING THE Ibalong Festival, were busy checking the decorations. IRENE DELA TORRE & LOUISE LOS BAOS, PAL flight attendants, and NERLITA RITO & THERESA NIOFRANCO, local newscasters were arranging the schedule. Sought after cardiologist GRACE REFORSADO was browsing through the program prepared by the Intercom Hotel owner JOJIE AGUAS. Entrepreneurs IVY MONSALVE, AMAIDA AYTONA, and SALVACION ICAONAPO were accepting donations for annual community outreach program: 10 trays of bangus from the farm of GERARD PETER CARREON; 1O dozens of chicken from Cocker of the Year, GERRY MIKE MONTENEGRO. EDISON LIVICIA brought bushels of fruit from his company; CHARMAINE BUDAO sent export quality pilinut candies; JACQUELINE DELOS REYES and FRANCIA MOYO also brought vegetables from their popular salad bars and dietary centers. PRINCESS VARIACION, AMOR SY, and CRISTINA AGUILAR provided the utensils from their house ware sales centers. A high-pitched voice broke through the din. Without looking, I knew it was APPLE DELA CROZ, founder of the flying doctors. ROMMELA GUAB, ROMINA LUNAS, ELLEN ATIENZA, DIVA RION, and MIOMI GARCIA were with her. They came to recruit more doctors and nurses to reach out to the far-flung islands of the Philippines. MARINE FIRAZA, AYSA ROSE LASTRELLA, JULIETA MURILLO, CHRISTINE BONGCARAS, and CINDY ESTEVEZ were planning to join. Finally, computer engineers, MARIE LEJANIE AMBATA and MARITES SANTANDER, called everyone to settle down. But before they could, the super slim models, ROSEMARIE LOMA, ABE CABRIA, JOANNA LOS BAOS, and CLARISSA SALAZAAR entered with their escorts PBA shots, RANDOLF MONTAS, ADDISON, CORRAL, STEVE CABUG, and ERIC MIRANDA. Their presence brought the house down. The Holy Eucharist was about to begin. Fr. MEDIN ARAMBULO, fresh from Rome was about to celebrate the mass. Helping him was Sr. MELANY CORTEZ, O.S.B. The choir was organized by MARILYN MERCADO, the catechetical director and wife of Mayor BERNARD MOYANO. The organizational session began. SHARON JOSON, the Philippine Biochem rep. to the GLOBE program, facilitated the meeting. The agenda included the background study of the proposed projects. The main project was to uplift the living conditions of the people especially the squatters. In our outreach areas, NIEVA VENTANILLA of BIR, PAMELA CANANEA of DECS, and VENUS LLANERA of DSWD cited the conditions in Binitayan, Tagas, Arimbay, Bigao, San Joaquin and Victory Village. Current projects in the area included road maintenance by LAARNI LEOSALAS and DAISY LEES construction companies. Livelihood is being provided by the handicraft and ceramic work of JUSTIN SILO and MARK MONPONBANUAS establishments. SIMONETTE NARVAEZ and MILA MUJAR are sponsoring free vocational classes there. City councilor RICHARD GONZALES and MIC

BOLINAS, Phil. Ambassador to France will talk with local and national officials for possible assistance. The bulk of the funds needed shall come from solicitations and from CECILIA PAULINO, Pres. of Bicolwide exporters, and bankers AIREEN MARAVILLAS, SAMUEL DETERA, ALLAN ALVAREZ and EFFIE JANE BALSARZA who pledged to give a percentage of their income to the foundation. Accountants SHARON SILO, ROMELA ORINOCO, JENNIFER LLAGUNO and LILIT REGINALDO with economists LESTER SANTAYANA will handle the finance. We were given a free afternoon to explore the city and trace long lost friends and relatives. I hurriedly hailed a taxi to take me to the newest mall in the city. When I entered the ladies boutique, I bumped into a familiar figure, Mrs. Epino with her grandchildren in tow. I invited her for lunch and from her I gathered several information.

Choreographer OLIVIA GOMEZ and CECYRILLE DURAN was doing a

world tour with their ballet performance. We bade each other goodbye hoping to see each other again. I went back to the hotel to take a much needed rest. While in the confines of my hotel room, the telephone rang. It was balikbayan nurse CRISTINA LOTIVIO. She, along with several other nurses, CLEO ANN ELAURZA, VANESSA TAWINGAN, CECILIA AGMATA and MICHAEL QUINZON were waiting for me at the lobby. We exchanged pleasantries and decided to go swimming at a nearby resort owned by MEAH DIMABAYAO and fianc ALDWIN PADUA. Exhausted, I went back to the hotel praying that no one will bother me. It was almost time for dinner for dinner when I heard a knock at the door. They were Atty. KAREN BANDARLIPE, and Supreme Court lawyer JPHN PAUL KALLOS. They were in Legazpi for several court sessions and meetings with MABINI lawyers JERELYN ADVIENTO, SHEILA EMBESTRO, EDCELA LIVICIA, IMELDA DELA CRUZ, MICAHEL MISA, and LORILAND REMPILLO. The organizational meeting resumed the following day. The second project discussed was all about health and nutrition. Drs. JOHANNSEN ZAPANTA, ALEX STO. TOMAS SYLWYNN HERMIO, CHERRY ANNE ALTAREJOS, and RIANE NIEVA shall conduct free consultations and visitations at the adopted communities every now and then. Biologist NELIA REALINGO shall check sanitation while Chem. Engineers JOAN EVASCO and IVAN PECK BALSARZA shall see to it that proper medicines are given. The meeting ended smoothly. No untoward incident happened, thanks to Capt. DELFIN SALCEDO, and policewomen CHRISTINE BARRIOS and JENNIFER JAUCIAN of the PNP, and Air force 1 st Lt. RENATO AREVALO and Navy Ensign RENER ESTANISLAO. Immediately after the meeting, minutes were distributed by computer scientists HENRITO ARINGO, RHAIMAN PERDIGON and ELADIO QUINTO. An article on the ongoing projects will be written by Newsweek correspondent THERESA GUIDOTE. At dusk, the closing program was held with Diplomats THERESA PILAPIL, MARICOR MATA, CLEOFE GOJAR, and GAIL SASUCA as emcees. Scientist JORAM NAVERA read an

open letter to his former classmates. Ambassador ANALYN MIRANDILLA presented the donation to the SAA Community who was invited to the program. 20 computers and printers; 10 volumes of science encyclopedias, science laboratory equipments, curtains for the AVR, sound system, aircon unit for the AVR, and two more overhead projectors. These have been the homecoming project of Batch 95. Due to popular demand, CZARISOL SANCHEZ, now an international singer rendered a song. Her voice was a voice to reckon with. On my way out, I was able to gather more information about my former classmates: Mrs. CRESENCIA ALTEA and husband JOVIC sent words that they wont be able to attend. Commercial model MAITA TUANQUI was in Paris for pictorial; Chemical engineer FIONA GONZALES is currently working with ALBERT MANALO at NASA on a project for the next space trip of Discovery to the planet Pluto. Astronauts SHERWIN SAGUIRER, HOWARD ORAYE, CHARO ARJOAN, & DARLENE COLICO were with them. Tabaco Mayor ARLENE BERCES was busy campaigning for the forthcoming election; Tennis 3 rd seeded BRYAN LEE was having rigid practices in preparation for the Wimbledon championships, and badminton superstar CATHERINE MATA was in Indonesia for the World Championship. GREG MOORE went back to Texas to heal a broken heart; LEX HUAB and his sweetheart were on a Caribbean cruise. I really missed some of my former classmates but I didnt know how to get in touch with them. I started writing my bookand on the last pages I have written: The Agnesians with their Benedictine training and background have made a difference. Perhaps, without this training, they may not have been able to build their dreams. Without this training, how cam they help in bringing about the changes in our sense of values and attitudes towards a fluid better Christian Philippine Society. I hope the SAA community will be happy for us. This book is humbly dedicated to them. When I woke up, I looked for the book, only to realize that everything was just a dream. Good luck to each and everyone and may the prophecy come true.
