Meeting Notes
The guest speaker for the fourth general meeting was Tony Marco, the Director of Human Resources, Nuclear, at Arizona Public Service. The APS is the largest electrical utility in Arizona, and also houses the largest nuclear plant in the nation. Mr. Marco gave a very useful presentation on leadership skills and potential. Afterwards, the accounting students attended Deloittes presentation, while the finance students stayed to listen to Johnson & Johnson. Both corporations offer many opportunities for accounting and finance graduates. The next general meeting will be held on Friday, February 24. The firms in attendance will be BDO and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU).

Ronald McDonald House

On February 18, ALPFA volunteers visited the Ronald McDonald House right across from Jackson Memorial Hospital. The mission of the Ronald McDonald House is to create, find, and support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children across the world. The House consists of 28 rooms with children and their families who are receiving life threatening surgeries and operations. ALPFA FIU volunteers played with the children all day including activities such as arts & crafts, painting, and puzzles. They also had a barbeque for the children and their families.
