My name is Anderson Diez libreros, I have 27 years, I am apprentice Sena, I am taking the fourth quarter of the training program in Electromechanical Maintenance Technology Industrial which is held in the Design Center of Industrial Technology (CDTI) in the complex Salomia of Cali, Valle del Cauca.

THE ELECTROMECHANIC In engineering, electromechanics combines the sciences of electromagnetism,

of electrical engineering and mechanics. Mechanical engineering in this context refers to the larger discipline which includes chemical engineering, and other related disciplines. Electrical engineering in this context also encompasses software engineering, computer engineering, and other related fields. This refers to the three major engineering disciplines of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and civil engineering under which all other engineering disciplines are classified.

MEASURING INSTRUMENTS A measuring instrument is a device that is used to compare physical quantities using a measuring process. The units of measure objects and events are used as standards or previously established patterns and the measurement is a number that is the relationship between the object of study and reference unit. Measuring instruments are the means by which this conversion is done.

Two important characteristics of a measuring instrument are the precision and sensitivity. On this occasion I will focus on the MULTIMETER that is of great importance and utilization in my training program.

THE MULTIMETER A multimeter, also called polymer, 1 or multitester tester is a handheld electric instrument to directly measure active electrical quantities such as current and potential (voltage) or passive like resistors, capacitors and others. Measurements can be made for direct or alternating current and several measurement ranges each. Some are analog and then digital ones have been introduced whose function is the same.

Is a very versatile device, based on the use of a measuring instrument, a very sensitive galvanometer which is used for all determinations. In order to measure each of the electrical quantities, the galvanometer must be completed with a particular electrical circuit will also depend on two galvanometer characteristics: the internal resistance (Ri) and the inverse of sensitivity. The latter is the current applied directly to the terminals of the galvanometer, the needle does reach the full

scale. In addition to the galvanometer, the polymer comprises the following elements: multi-scale by moving a single needle to read the values of different magnitudes in different measuring ranges. A switch lets you change the function of the polymer to act as a meter in all its versions and measuring ranges. The mission of the switch is selected in each case the internal circuit to be associated with the measuring instrument for each measurement. Two or more electrical terminals for connecting the meter to the circuits or external components whose values are intended to measure. The access terminals usually have colors to facilitate the correction of external connections. When measuring current, red is usually the most potential (or potential +) and black the lowest potential (or potential -). The left part of figure (Scheme 1) is used to continuously measure and can be seen that polarity. The right side of the figure is used to measure the alternating current. The tester is equipped with an internal battery to measure the magnitudes passive. Also has a zero adjustment to the extent necessary resistance.
