FOR THE WEEK OF May 20, 2012

Lutheran World Relief is asking for our help. There is a need for bath size bars of soap. Trinity will be collecting soap until October 2, 2012. Please bring your donations to the church before the October cutoff date. There will be a collection box located in the Fellowship Hall. Your love offering will be used to support the activities of Lutheran World Relief where there is a need. If you have any questions contact Sharon Thacker at 443-6149.

LSS Food Pantry The next volunteer date is Monday, May 31, 10:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. please volunteer for this very important service. Look for the sign-up sheet on the lower lobby bulletin board. The LSS Food Pantry is located 1460 Champion Ave. Free parking is across the street on the lot. Contact Mary Roberts 588-2031 with any questions. 5th Thursday Community Dinners First English hosts community dinners each Thursday. They need our help on the 5th Thursday of every month. The next date is: May 31 at 6:00 p.m. A Sign-up sheet is available on the lower lobby bulletin board. Contact Mary Roberts 5882031 with any questions. Faith Mission Trinity volunteers help serve dinner to the men at Faith Mission on the fourth Thursday of each month. Arrival time is 6:30 p.m. and the time commitment is about two hours. Faith Mission is located at 151 N. 6th Street, parking is available in the Napa Auto Parts parking lot. Four volunteers are needed each month, sign-up cards are available on the bulletin board in the lower lobby to serve at Faith Mission in 2012. The next day to serve is May 24th. Please contact Sharon Thacker at 614.443.6149 or sthacker882000@sbcglobal.net. The Community Ministry team is hosting a blood drive and needs your help! We need at least 25 people to sign up to give blood before we can set a date for the blood drive with the Red Cross. We're looking to host the blood drive in August. Participants must be older than 17 to donate blood on their own, but may be 16 with their parents' permission. Snacks will be provided. Through the Church the Song Goes On Cantor Connection presents fourth annual citywide spring hymn festival Today, Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 7 p.m. Epiphany Lutheran Church, Pickerington
ALCM Columbus: Cantor Connection, the only active local chapter of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians (ALCM), proudly announces its fourth annual spring hymn festival celebrating the great music of the Lutheran church. This years theme is Through the Church the Song Goes On and celebrates ALCMs first quarter-century. It takes place on Sunday, May 20 at 7 p.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church 268 Hill Road North, Pickerington, Ohio, 43147.

For the next several weeks Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church will be offering a class for inquirers into our ministry, for folks seeking baptism, and for folks who wish to become members of the congregation. The tentative schedule of topics to be covered is: Sunday, May 20th Love! The Ten Commandments and Christian life. Sunday, May 27th Grow! The Apostles Creed and Spiritual Formation Sunday, June 3rd Give! Sharing what we have for Christs mission Sessions will be held on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. Longtime members of Trinity are welcome as well! This could be a fine opportunity for all to brush up on the basics of your faith.

We are looking for volunteer gardeners: We will put in our plants today following worship. We also are looking for someone to coordinate a schedule of volunteers to weed and water each week as needed. And, of course, people to actually do that volunteer work.
