Swearing Off of Unhappiness – No More Problems – Pain (H)as an
Let's look to our unhappiness. What will we find? Before we start, though, everyone get down into Heart. Leave the head behind in your quest, or all you'll do is increase unhappiness. Besides, if mind could have found a way out for you, don't you think it already would have? So what does it have to offer in such a quest? I posit the answer is nothing – so do let it go. Now, that's the first thing – the next is to have it let you go. And believe it or not, you're not in charge of that, so don't worry about it or try to “do” anything to stop mind intruding into your Heart meditation, here. When you see a thought, just look back to Heart. It may also help a good bit to recall who or at least what you are. Since we can't really define that, though, let's define what you're not. You are not mind. You are not body. You are not anything at all in 3D. This is not you. Do what you can to accept that. It may be hard if this is new to you. You'll find all sorts of resistance coming up to push back against this. That's your programming, by the way – so just watch – only that. For fun, you can remind yourself that it's you who contain the body – and not the reverse, which many illumined types tend to think. You are not a soul or spirit inside of a body. Well, that's one perspective to take – it's just not a high enough one for this particular journal trip – Heart trip, actually. Think I'll start calling them that. It's my journal, but it's your Heart.
Just as a reminder – or for those who are new – Heart is capitalized, here, to set it off from the body's organ or the chakra that are generally meant when someone says “heart.” This isn't that. I don't know what it is, but one theory is that it's some sort of portal. It doesn't have a specific location, but it's attained or entered by keeping the focus of attention – the Ray of Attention – in the central chest. Just keep doing that. Okay, now that you know you contain the body – are you okay with that? - it's time to move on. You actually contain the whole Cosmos, right there within Heart. It's no big deal, really. It's also contained within each grain of sand. Think fractal – that sometimes shuts the mind up at this stage – or it helps. The point at the start is to let all self-definition go. If it exists in 3D – if it can be seen, touched, or named – then it isn't you. You're far grander than that – in fact, you're divine. So let go of all definitions of you. Just touch down in Heart and be, for now. It's enough. Alternately, you can be like an orb in the atmosphere, looking down on things, here. Whatever it takes to break away from body identification – from thinking you really are that – will work. Now, back to your unhappiness. How does that look to you, now? It should have a vastly different look and feeling to it, from here. What are those troubles about? Will any of them make it with you to your Life Review after crossing over when the body dies? I thought not. Now, some minds have piped up with various world situations that look really bad – don't play that game. Stick close to home with this. We're looking at your personal unhappiness, not solving the unhappiness of the world. First things first. The rest will follow by itself, believe it or not. It's designed that way, though when we're body or mind identified we can't see it that well. Your personal unhappiness – take a good look. Don't be afraid to feel the feelings, either – they won't hurt. What hurts is resistance – resistance to life. Resistance to Now is what we offer to life when we're having problems. Problems, themselves, don't really exist. They're unreal. They're just games that we play.
So, if you're tired of such games, then I suggest you cease playing them. That's possible, you know – maybe you just forgot. There are some things that I don't think are possible, but very few. One is getting through a 3D life without any pain or discomfort. That one is actually humorous when seen from a higher perspective. The pain is built in. It wouldn't be life, here, if there was no pain at all. It's an important part of the duality. I suspect it's actually one of the reasons we bother to come here – though I'm not fully clear on that. Just a suspicion at this point. Anyway, if you're ready for this, I have a way – a new way – to look at things that may really help. There is quite literally nothing that comes your way – no, nothing – that isn't bringing a blessing along with it. It actually comes to you to bring that blessing. Yet most of us throw the difficult things away without bothering to even look at them closely - without unwrapping them – which is the aspect of difficulty they come encased in. Here's my suggestion – welcome life, no matter what it brings to your door – into your Now. That's right, stop resisting. We've all found by now that resistance is futile, anyway – if we're looking, if we're really seeing. It does no good. What does it help? And what if it's the very source of much of your unhappiness? Wouldn't it be good to just let it go? Perform an experiment and see for yourself. Quit resisting things for one week. Then take stock and just see. By the change of a number of habits, a number of attitudes, and some beliefs, we can truly make a big change in our experience of life. We've been fighting life all along, not knowing that it's our fighting that is prolonging, even creating the battle ground that we call our current life. Well, let's try a new way. Stop fighting life. Byron Katie has an excellent book on this very topic – it's called Loving What Is , and I highly recommend you find a copy if you're the reading type. She is one who had one of those huge awakenings – the kind that take years to figure out what happened, and that basically take over your life. She's wonderful – amazing and wonderful. Check her out. Now, can you feel the difference in you, even now, as you're considering non-resistance to the flow of life? Can you sense even just a bit of relaxation creeping in around the edges? I can sense
it in some of you. Remember to pay attention to self. No need to define it – but do pay attention to self. Tension, itself, is part of the vicious cycle we perpetuate by fighting against life. What we don't realize is that we're not fighting life – we're really fighting the self. We're fighting against the life experiences that are among those we chose to have before we were born. Had you ever considered anything like that? You wouldn't have, if you thought you were only the body or bodymind complex. That isn't what chose any such thing, of course – so how could you have entertained such a perspective in that case? I'd like you to see how self-limiting it is to believe you're anything solid at all. You have experiences of that – but you aren't that. Oh, what a big difference one word can make - “that” vs “of that.” I suggest you let yourself go free. Surrender all sense of limitation – just let it go and fly free. You can do that. Come on – give yourself permission. Rise up into the sky like a great big, bright, colorful air balloon and catch the next breeze. You are free. Thought is powerful. Both thought and words are far more powerful than we've been taught to believe. We don't respect them much at all when we're sheeple or sleeple – but we do when we're waking up because we begin to see how they've been used against us – to control and manipulate us like dolls and puppets. Ah, but here's the beauty in that seeing – once we see it, we can just walk out from under the spells. Seeing – vision, itself – is one of the most freeing things it is possible to experience. It isn't something you actually do – rather, it's an experience, the kind of seeing I'm talking about – Heart vision. So stay close to Heart. Oh – and you can be flying about in the sky and still be in Heart. Remember, it's not physical – and neither are you. Words are cages – for sleeple, but not for you. Language structures consciousness. It's in your best interest to work with that one so that you can soon take it on as a belief. Language structures consciousness. It really does. Now, it's a matter of who it is you want structuring your consciousness – especially since it's possible that what you are is consciousness. It ranks tops in importance of things to watch.
Now that I've said that, I feel some take on a new tension. I'd like to point out to you what may be the source of that. You heard that set of words from within your mind – instead of from Heart. Old programs will come up like that. They'll slip in sideways in less than a heartbeat, and you'll wonder why your feeling just changed. Be watching so you're quick to spot mind at its tricks. This watching we do is always from Heart – and there's never the least bit of tension involved. Tension is an indicator of fear. Did you know that? Tension generally hides fear underneath. It will be up to you to watch for yourself and see, of course. No one can tell you what's going on in your organism – when it's you that contains it. No one can do your waking up for you, either. Do you know why? It's pretty easy, once you see it. It's because, when you get something from others, you take it into the mind. It's mind-based learning, that's all. And the mind experiences life from the outside – it looks at externals. Only Heart does things from within, through direct experience. That's why Heart's knowing is a whole world apart from that of the mind. So you can know and mentally understand all the wise teachings of the ages, and it won't help you wake up unless you apply it for yourself. No one else's application of anything will do you the least good, absent your own application of things. Do you know that? If you take a good Heart look, you'll see that it's so. Otherwise, you wouldn't have rebelled as you did as a child and teen. You had to find out for yourself. It's like that. Well, time to do it, again. Be young again. The young ones know. Let's all agree to listen to our Heart – to really pay attention and listen. We don't need the sages and gurus anymore once we're ready to wake up. I'm sure we've all heard quite enough of whatever it is that they're offering. You already know all that stuff, anyway. All they do is remind you. Any true teacher will tell you that. They're just here as reminders of what we already are. We're each equipped with an inner teacher, too – the still, small voice, as it's called in the old texts. Well, as long as we're faced outward, paying so much attention to the world and its goings on, we won't be hearing our inner tuition – our intuition. As long as mind is engaged you won't be hearing the Heart. It's oil and
water. The two don't mix. Now, that's true for me. I've had plenty of time to test it out. Yet it may not be true for you. You've got to prove it on yourself. Don't take someone's word for things before taking it to your own Heart to see. What I've found is that, every single time I find myself thinking, when I look I notice I'm in mind and not Heart. Even if I'm in Heart when I start, immediately – yes, instantly – when I'm in thought I'm back out of Heart and in mind. It's a really easy thing to get back into Heart, of course – just shift your attention back there. It's just as instant – but it does require the use of free will. This is one of the ways that illustrates why my knowledge or understanding doesn't do it for you. This constant need to make your own choices contradicts my ability to awaken you. Awakening is a do-it-yourself job. So the best thing to do is to engage the will in this. Don't wait for some guru or some magic date to solve your problems – when they can be solved right now and by you. You can choose to cease seeing anything life brings to you as a probem (great “typo” for problem). It's a choice in how you apply the power of your vision and where you place your attention. Notice that the word “problem” contains the word “probe.” It's in there. It's a pretty good hint at what to do with a problem – you probe into it – look deeply into it – and just watch. If and as we can shift out of the mind mode of always doing, always needing to do, we can settle down into the Heart mode which just quietly watches most things. Heart takes care of the doing, too, but not in any sort of way that mind would recognize. What Heart does gets done almost as if by itself. Heart does it – you don't. It's also called being danced. You're no longer the dancer – you're the dance. Sure, it's a major shift. I recognize that. But I also recognize that you're so much bigger than you think you are that It's pretty ridiculous. It's a whole new way to look at, “Let go and let God.” Being danced is to let go and let Heart take the reins. There's no way to explain it, but you'll know for sure when it happens. You'll say something that didn't originate in the mind – but it came out of the mouth. Okay, so it's strange. What's so great about this problem-ridden
life most of us have been living that we're not ready for a change? Especially a change that could give us the whole Cosmos, not just the whole world. Things are not problems, my friends. We can choose to banish that word from our personal vocabulary. Sure, to the world many things will remain problems. Stick to the self. Turn the focus of attention ever inward. Don't get distracted by the world and by mind. It's pointless – it solves or helps nothing. Stick with Heart. Give it a really good chance, and see if your life doesn't change.
