Oh, my Mind! move away from sinful intent; Oh, my Mind! truth-inspired motives do cherish in your heart; Oh, my Mind! dwell not on ideas of indulgence, Know for sure, their ill-effects will Everywhere, disgust produce! 5. 6. Oh, my Mind! harbor no anger, grief is its product; Oh, my Mind! have no lustful desires, root of sickness galore; Oh, my Mind! never give shelter to jealousy Oh, my Mind! and neither to hypocrisy. 6. 7. Oh, dear Mind! shelter no grief in your heart; Oh, dear Mind! nor sadness nor worry; Bondage of body, with discrimination abandon, Thus in delight , to Freedom hearken! 12. 13. Oh, dear Mind! know you not Ravana's fate? Lost all his kingdom, least did he expect; Speedily, therefore, vile desires slay, Death does stalk you, with not a moment's delay! 13. 14. Birth resulted from actions past, Death's jaws stilled him at last; The way of Death even the greatest do trace, Countless are born, and countless end in grave. 14. 15. For the succor of the weak and the meek. incarnates the Lord. 131. never does He leave them wounded. Vain debate and doubts in God subdue. 131. their lives full of tears. 127. wielded the axe. Oh Mind! know the fantasies of the mind to be vain. Playfully He assumes forms. the king of gods. . 126. 130. 125. Ever proud of His devotees. Speedily He ran to her side. in this age of Ignorance. and save them from sinking. abiding in peace chanting Rama's name. no effort can seem extreme.

138. Ignorance clouds the intellect. From the mind. Mistaking the Spirit for Matter. 135. for bondage is its chief feature. the ego keeps the mind unlit. But the saint perceives only the fearless infinity. 142. With vigor do faith and virtue blossom. 136. and pervades all existence. when to the ego it redounds. fear utterly banish. If self-conceit you drop not. the Spirit eludes the creature. crushed is its sting indeed. You will neither find it. compassion and communion his treasures. Repositories of dispassion and intuition are the devotees. releasing you from the ego's clasp. doubt you will dispel not. self-conceit they would not let go. 132. These are the signs of a king of the seraphim. Faithless deeds they could not escape. for the delirious mind. no matter what the age. 136. the sense of duality does vanish. Impoverished it is born again. In pardon and peace rejoices. Whose sight and touch verily showers grace. in thought and in deed. Unfortunate is the one. 135. Though self-evident. 133. Misery the body suffers. Plunged in bodily pleasures. . that wisdom is hard to grasp. Whose very words dispel doubts apace. Eternal Truth they could not grasp. For want of faith worthy deeds turn sour. comprehend you will not. nor passions for earthly pleasures. The wealth of eternal truth lies hidden from the ego's heady power. the concealed wealth. Yet remained ignorant creatures. Thrice I repeat. The ancient Wisdom it cannot grasp. Bow down at the feet in reverence. 137. Seeing That. Pellucid was the teaching of the great sages. such powers there reside. for all its worth.Listen! therefore. Carries no conceit. and resolved not to quit. 140. their intellect in dark cages. though repeatedly warned. 141. 137. 139. The sage alone can restore the sight. Their minds anchored to His name. Merciless and terrifying Death. May purity of actions be your motive. The ancient Truth escapes it. from bondage to final release. Bereft of greed and anger never can misery touch him. with faith serve the sage. wisdom's light dimmed. Oh my dear Mind! in holy company alone abide. 133. 139. 140. speak only after honest search. It shines when the ego is not born. With your sight blinded by ignorance. 141. nor understand it. who only matter sees and not his own ignorance. mired in the embodied ego. 134. 134. 143. Says this servant of Rama. Fails the inspiration to free the mind of its bonds. Filled with fear this world seems to be. 138. Even wickedness transmutes. Hard to reach . 142. Thrice again I repeat. without the hope for health.

yet supports all the gods. Neither knowledge of the body. and in love's bath. follow the sage's path. with the mind intuitive. Formless. Seeing they view it not. What in this universe is true for all time? Persistent inquiry alone will take you to that peak sublime. nothing does death decline. Verily the truth can be grasped. Separate the deathless from the transient. For truth is deathless. with the sages by your side. nor by anything. to oblivion consign. . born of ignorance. Forever search for the true essence. even of creation and others. and to birth it offers no signature. Yet with the sight of knowledge. they adorn their features. faith will fetch the freedom. 151. It moves not by itself. Service to the sages render. Firmly holds the wealth of knowledge. Separates not true from false. Oh Mind! seek the counsel to slay your insipience. 146. 145. Oh Mind! seek the infinite truth. In constant thoughts of pleasures lies the origin of creatures. Firmly it stands alone. in the deathless abide. from fatigue they fell to silence. Resolve this very moment to immerse yourself In beatitude. 147. 151. 153. not sacrifices. What exists for the eyes. Whatever formed gets destroyed. Oh Mind! seek the infinite truth. then will shine. It breaks not like a pot. Oh my dear Mind! that essence is different from everything you know. Neither seen nor unseen.Strays from the path of wisdom. Says this devotee of Rama. 144. these this body's eyes. Apprehend it in the depth of your heart. Unceasing discrimination will fill you up with your true nature. nor giving up pleasures of the body. disappears in time. will contentment yield. and be with contentment filled. Transience lies in falsehood. with inquiry imperfect. nor like a string. 150. Uniquely one it is. 153. search for freedom stilled. when the eye of wisdom sees. 148. unperceived by the ego. Rooted in egoism and ignorance. 146. singular in all creation's flow. Not asceticism. The physical sight withdraws. Oh Mind! seek the infinite truth. seek the sages' kingdom. Discern in all creatures the essence pervasive. it is transparent to the wise. 148. 152.

. In egotism's death lies beatitude. Egotism is like the impurity of a fly in the food. 154. Only you can search the ego's roots. 156. sages use for enlightenment. when egotism invades the intellect. the cause for grief. discern it with diligence. sees what transcends logic cool. 161. These are only signposts. & creation of the elements. codes of conduct. Will never digest the food of wisdom. One who truly sees it. Lost is all the nobility. Like ignoring the signpost of the tree or star. the joy supreme. and astounding conclusions philosophies asseverate. and of debate. Who there be among logicians. seeing beyond the light. the beatitude of the immaculate. The truth abides in the heart. Search all the scriptures. when ego chooses virtue to desecrate. Within your own heart lies that secret truth. 160. philosophy. seek that alone. Roots of grief in egotism lie. but awake is the sage living the wisdom sound. Disputations aplenty. 155. 162. Oh my dear Mind! dispense no advice to others. Inconclusive their end. intolerant and senseless. 158. 155. Virtue in conduct dies. logic. Scriptures. Myths. into that one merges. Oh my dear Mind! divisive thoughts dispel. 163. the human succumbs to the facts. opinionated contradictions abound. from the body to the spirit-self. 162. Deprived of intellect and intuition. Stilled to silence all the speaking tongues Trying to describe the essence of existence. witness of the acts. Invisible to the eyes is that essence. 158. Words of wisdom. to the depths extreme. it remains unseen to the sight. dropping them on the way. Wasted are words of wisdom prefixed by 'my'. hard it is to understand. Whole awareness transform. Blinded by the ego. for afflictions' relief. until exists the egotist.154. 159. the root of all fears. Firmly rooted in the idea. Never can you find it. Oh my dear Mind! indulge not in debates. Worship that essence they point to. one who says one sees the truth. 157. Cast out was the spirit. 161. Says the sage. Discerned when the mind is honed. To show the waxing moon's crescent on the second day. 160. 157. Though pervading all creation. Oh Mind! give up the conceit of knowledge. 159. Never can its swallower find the taste good. Rid yourself of the ego. Sleep in the field of ignorance. of the body as the ultimate. is indeed a fool. 156. vast and seemingly endless. Whose mind cannot shake off the impurity of conceit. trying to grasp it in your hands.

Dwell on the essence that transcends words. who seeks the spirit Of wisdom as the supreme rest. Spend each passing moment in truth's contemplation. and unreality measures.Learn it from the sages. 172. march on! as long as you live. spreading far and wide. 166. Uproot the ego to the very last bit. 168. In all directions it spreads darkness. 169. give up the doubt of god's existence. Shrink to nothingness the thought of the body. 174. Mind's infatuation with the body overcome By discernment of the essence of existence. to view the whole universe as your very own Self. 172. They both merge in the Supreme That. Ever reflecting on Hari's name. All other thoughts remove from your mind's view. Intangible it is. 171. and attributeless too. 164. On them thrives greed in the heart. Egotism dwells on the body. Immersed in that essence is the one called a saint. wed the bride in their kingdom. Thoughtfully discern the source. 169. Serve the wise sages. Afflictions grow when body is made the final quest. 165. the vortex of birth and death. 173. and the spirit withers. Forever seek the company of sages. Till mergence in the essence. Unaffected is the sage. Oh dear one! Know that as true knowledge That illumines reality. 163. In the primal thought is born the duality of I and It. The nature of the mind is to be divisive. When the ego sprouts in the awareness. peace and joy their very breath. Resolutely discern the eternal essence. 167. 164. Ask the sages what is endless and infinite. 165. When discernment makes ignorance quit. friends. 166. their blessings akin to liberation. never their company shall you rue. Not the one whose miserable mind wicked desires taint. 168. the only thought the mind should make. egotism it cannot woo. That the mind may the spirit gird. Thoughts of bodily pleasures from your mind forsake. of the body and senses others. . court the bride of freedom. Constant thoughts of pleasures. Truly the essence seems to hide. Spouse. 170. the darkness to displace. 173. Learn it from the sages. 171. in your infatuation bide. Ignorance inspires ideas of pleasures. This servant of Rama says. It covers the whole view of space. Discern that truth transcendent.

. can pleasures fulfil. Oh my dear Mind! vain are such teachers. Nor one who thinks garrulity and inaction as just. Adept in incantations and occult powers. 177. One worships that one regards as god. 183. 182. Results follow deeds. Who and how it is. it grants eternal freedom. Whence arose all the worlds. 182. 176. Oh Mind! seek that teacher alone. Who. 175. 179. 175. 178. 176. from the ego it hides. full of dispassion. Like the suns. filled with compassion. The universe it protects. Not the insolent. by sorcery. The wise and discerning devotee. nor slip. the sage whom wisdom girds. None can see it. Nor the one greedy for wealth. But no one seeks the essence. Protects its devotees with wisdom. Incompetent for freedom in you to instill.Invisible to the eyes. Nor does it move. Thus the numbers of gods is beyond count. Not one with the mind mired in vain gossip and lust. 181. till to us the Teacher's grace call. Whom it destroys. And each one regards one's own worship as paramount. It decays not. It tarries not. nor the jealous. Nor the one devotionless. Supreme stands Shiva. 180. But the one doing good deeds in accord with one's words. Nor the one with dishonor afflicted. nor the deceitful. That great One is hidden from us all. nor the wicked. That writer's destiny to write no one is fit! Burned to dissolution this world. no one can save it. To that addresses none. destiny's records on foreheads writ. 178. Self-controlled. 181. The true god is hard to find despite search. forgiving. Whom it protects no one can destroy it. nor to misery take. at the time of Armageddon. That one alone released from all bonds Is the incomprehensible sage of the beyond. in communion divine. is a mystery beyond the church. Never is it ever visible to these eyes. Embodies itself as compassion. Some are too numerous to count. and their attendants. 177. Countless numbers of teachers abound. Never does that essence divide or break. 179. Not the sorcerer. Not the reviler. none can destroy His escutcheon. when you try to see it. 174. Some gods can be counted. and dissolves. Also weave fabulous tales for the minds to fill. 180.

nor the myths Could describe Him beyond a nod. 188. He is the witness of the seen. Give up all attachment. creatures gain freedom of eternal rest. 192. indivisible in its being. Observe That. 193. Mergence in that non-dual essence is indeed cotemplation grand. beyond all mention. No simile stands comparison with its grandeur. Oh Mind! whatever one sees is only an apparition. 183. The sage's words led to its understanding. nor a guardian. nor understand. which made the world manifest. and enjoy divine benediction. and enjoy the divine benediction. Such a sage's company keep. Invoking Rama's presence every moment is true communion. Detach yourself from it. despite all the searching. seek the sage to dispel your doubt. They taint not the true essence. ignorance never to end. 193. all attachment abandon. 194. 188.Mighty of will. Oh my dear Mind! from Him end your separation For which you need only your ego to abandon. 186. They fathom not his farthest reach. for the joy of divine benediction. and adept in daily deeds. Neither a knower nor a non-knower is the supreme god. Neither a doer. All attachment abandon. Whose engrossment in the physical form is firm. This body and the universe. Ever thinking of the unthinkable. adorned with qualities. to imbue the mind with divinity indeed. and to devotion pledge. Not the scriptures. Whatever despicable blocks your march. vigilant. 191. that overcome by dispassion. Transcending the bodily awareness. . 187. Blank in wisdom stays the mind. 192. 191. 187. 185. 185. 189. Uproot the bodily engrossment by the sword of knowledge. Never is it visible. Rama is forever near you. Fearless and worry-free be. its very nature pure. Transcends both attachment and dispassion. The truth lies beyond words. Whose form the mind can neither find. For the joy of divine benediction. Oh Mind! search for that infinity. Devoutly take cover in Rama's form. beyond the seen and the unseen. Oh Mind! wisely seek the truth. Never. 190. What seemed to be nought brought forth being. That supreme truth the ego cannot understand. Ever in unity it dwells alone. and the unseen. Perceiving That. Unsulleid and supreme. your true nature inform. 186. march on. 189. With words of wisdom or of paean. 184. 190. 184. but needs to be spoken about. learned. will wisdom confirm. comprised of the same elements. even at the end of time. Recognise That.

194. Exists there no space without him. 196. The duality of oneself and another Is dispelled from the mind forever. In whose company. Respectfuly follow the sages. Wisdom dawns when knowledge is whole. masters of detachment. 197. 199. Space pervades the whole universe. Innately He stands alone. Whatever moves in space. Even ends the witness state as a goal. 200. There the seen and the unseen dissolve. 200. Oh dear one! one sees Rama everywhere as one's own self. Pervasive in all. 202. Dispelled is the ignorance of body's reality. Oh my dear Mind! this secret you acquired Only after the heart yearned and labored. his whereabouts how does he give?. smaller than the smallest. 198. 203. and no penance involves. To call Him pervasive is logically unsound. Oh Mind! Devout attachment to the sage Removes the ties of bondage. from the smallest to the largest. for Rama can it transpierce. 195. one without a second. know thus he pervades all. who is that god and how is he? Thus does the aspirant question respectfully. 201. Immeasurable time and space is truth's form. Though deeply profound. he neither comes nor goes. Exists not without Rama's presence. where does he live? Moreover. Oh Mind! abandon all attachment. On its contemplation. Yearning to see it forever. for eternal redemption. Still inadequate the metaphor. Recognising one's own self everywhere. The thirst for its vision never ends in satiety. Oh Mind! instant freedom is the prize you win . Oh Mind! words fail when mind surpasses itself. 203. Impossible to touch it by logic. Ever observing him. 196. 202. Akin to the sky is Rama's form. Peace filled the body. 197. even the greatest grief dissolves. One cannot perceive anything else. 201. 195. one merges into him. Know that thus in the heart lives the god.Abiding in the heart. Filled with truth to the brim. from death to eternal life transform. thus should one know. it yields to the vision Nothing else but His power of grace alone can end the division. And tread the path of truth. Like the sky. That beatitude seize with constant contemplation And the company of the sages. After many an aeon did we meet together. 204. When the body dies. ending the body's dream that was never. it will not conform. 199. 198.
