Taylor Swift was born on December 13th, 1989.
She was born in Reading, Pennsylvania and grew up In Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. She grew up on a Christmas tree farm with her younger brother Austin and her mom Andrea and her father Scott. At the age of 10, a computer repair man came and taught Taylor her first three guitar chords, she wrote her first song that night, “Lucky You”. She began writing songs regularly and used it as an outlet to help her with her pain from not fitting in at school. Swift was a victim of bullying, and spent her time writing songs to express her emotions. She also started performing at local karaoke contests, festivals, and fairs. Taylor and her family went to Nashville where she worked with multiple song writers. When she went her first time, she gave every label in town a copy of her homemade cover CD, but she was rejected. When she returned to Pennsylvania, she sang the National Anthem at a US Open Tennis Tournament, which received a lot of attention. When she was 14 her family moved to Nashville. In Tennessee, she attended Hendersonville High School, but when she got to her Junior year she went to homeschool for the rest of her High School years. When she was 15 she was offered a Developing deal with RCA records where they would watch her until she was 18 and at that point they could keep her or drop her. She declined the offer. She saw a local performing night at “The Bluebird Café” and decided to perform. It was there when Scott Borchetta saw her and asked to sign her on to his newly formed record label. She accepted the offer and was the youngest on to be signed on to Big Machine Records Label. Taylor released her first single ‘Tim McGraw’ in 2006 which hit Number 6 on the billboard charts. The music video for ‘Tim McGraw’ won an award for Breakthrough Video of the Year at the 2007 CMT Music Awards. She later released her first album in October 2006 which sold 39,000 copies. The album spent 8 weeks at the top of Top Country Albums charts. Taylor released her 2nd album ‘Fearless’ in November 2008. The album debuted No.1 on the Billboard 200 Album chart. In January 2009 Taylor announced her tour in 52 different cities in 32 different states. Taylor won Album of the year at the 44th annual ACM Awards. At the 2009 VCM Awards Taylor was on stage speaking for her award of ‘Best Female Video’ when Kanye West rushed on stage, took the microphone from Taylor and said how Beyoncé should have won the award. In October 2010, Taylor released her 3rd album ‘Speak now’. Taylor is still going all around the world for her Speak Now Tour. In September 2011 I had the chance to go to a Speak Now Concert . I was so excited to see she included Lots of dancers (they had a guy doing tap with a push broom!) , Lots of stage smoke and fireworks, Lots of stage props, Taylor flew around the arena in a balcony, she walked through the crowd to the other side of the arena, and she had trapeze artist. She has won lots of awards including, Artist of the year, Song of the year, Entertainer of the year and more. I will always love Taylor. She truly shows you can be Famous without being covered in tattoos or swearing in your music. She is a role model for many people, including me.
