WHY
Compactness of Conductor
Mechanical strength is the most critical aspects of conductor design Havell's guarantees more then 93% compactness of conductor The conductor is made from 100% EC grade scratch free aluminium/copper to ensure excellent conductivity and minimised electrical stress.
CABLE DESIGN
Conductor screening, Insulation, Insulation screening At Havells we use German Triple Cross-Head to apply all the three layers in one single process to ensure no air gap and therefore low leakage.
BEDDING
We use extruded inner sheath as a standard company policy to improve hygroscopic properties of the cable & to provide uniform bedding for better armour placement.
ARMOUR COVERAGE
Havells Cables have the best armour coverage. We guarantee more than 90% coverage of armour. We use only ISI mark strips & wires. This ensures minimum resistance to fault current in case of short circuit.
MANUFACTURING INFRASTURCTUR
State-of-the-art CCV Line Curing process is one of the most crucial aspect of cable performance. We use one of the best CCV Line to ensure uniform curing of XLPE insulation. Drum twister laying-up machine Havells is among a hand full of companies world wide to possess such a large drum twister. It allows us the flexibility to provide longer cable lengths & excellent compactness of design.
STATE-OF-THE-ART PLANT
CURING PROCESS
What is curing? Polyethylene is a thermoplastic material consisting of long chain of hydrocarbon molecules. At elevated temperatures these molecules tend to mover relative to one another so material becomes increasingly deformable and will eventually melt at a temperature around 110 degree C. The process of cross-linking or vulcanisation, consists of producing chemical bonds at intervals between the long molecular chains to give a ladder effect which prevents slippage between molecules and results in good thermal form stability.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Low Voltage Cables : Current caring capacity Voltage drop Laying conditions High Voltage Cables Fault level of the systems In distribution systems it is always advisable to use wire armouring due to high fault levels of the systems
