Notes 1 - Peerless/Trout has no graduate numbers available from Aboriginal Affairs because the community became a federal reserve in 2011. The final number for children not in school is actually somewhat lower. 2 - The number of children registered for school comes from Aboriginal Affairs nominal roll counts for each community for the school year 2011/12. These are the students attending at least 40 per cent of the time during a two-week period at the end of September. 3 - The population numbers come from the Indian Register for children living on reserve or associated crown land. The numbers are updated and filed monthly by each First Nation. One caution is that if a First Nation's government has recently been through significant disruption, they may have fallen behind in updating the number of families moving off reserve. 4 - This number is calculated by taking the total number of children between the ages of 4 and 21, and subtracting the number of children registered for school and the number of children who already graduated.
