Leasys v1.

Method of Operation. Following the tables given showing the dichotomous properties of the two class of leaves (Simple and Compound), a bi-directional tree relationship can be formed. As a case study, we shall discuss how to sector 11 in the Compound Leaves Class. STAGE 1: Leasys Properties Registration First, we need to register the property of the proposed definition cell. This method is used since it is evident that a plant name can exist in more than one definition cell. Therefore, the program requires the user to first register a definition cell using its path details. The following constraints are applicable to the successful completion of this area. The program checks if the path selected is correct. For instance, a plant that has spines or thorns will not be checked if it possesses latex or not (according to the table) and vice versa. The program also ensures that a property selection will never appear twice due to its indexing property. Due to this, null selection are marked as N/A. Each property is assigned a unique number and as such, a property can be assigned to a plant. Hence, in the applications database, the properties are in a table different from the plants. Having explained is operation; the user will follow the steps below. First select the class (whether Simple or Compound). Select the properties. If the property is correct, proceed to the next step, if not repeat the previous step. If the selected property is new to the program, proceed to the last step, if not, repeat step 2 or go to the next step. The selected property will be registered by the program and assigned a unique number (propID).

STAGE 2: Leasys Plant Management After the properties have been registered, you will proceed to this stage. Here the leaves are mapped to already registered properties and as such the table is very unambiguous and irredundant. This stages operation goes as follows: Select the Leaf Class. Select the Property of the Plant that you wish to register. The property will be checked against the already registered properties that are saved in the application. The property will be checked against correctness. In the Plant Information Section, Click the Picture Area (Initially Black) to lad a picture from a location in your system. Enter the Scientific Name and the Local Name of the Plant. (For optimum performance and conforming to naming standards, the scientific name field does not allow symbols or double spaces) The program will check is the Scientific Name exists with another having the same name, leaf class and property altogether at once. If a plant, exists with all these, it will mean duplication and the program will not allow that. A leaf can have the same name if and only if they are not having the same property id. A leaf cannot have the same name with another plant in the opposing class. When all requirements are met, the application will register the plant with the properties as shown below. leasys_plant_table
