to all the Beauty of Orthodox Belief. Hence Thou acquired a full Knowledge of Christ our God Who from darkness brings out the Light. Therefore, earnestly pray to Him to Illumine us and Save our souls.

Praise Him with timbrel and dance; praise Him with strings and pipe.

The name “Rock” has been worthily give to you: on this Rock the Lord of all confirmed the Church’s unshakable Faith; and He made Thee, O Holy Peter, the senior Pastor of Reason-endowed Sheep. Therefore, the Benevolent Master appointed Thee to hold the Keys of the Heavenly Gats, and to open to everyone who approaches with Faith. And Thou were thus counted worthy of imitating our Lord – being crucified. We Entreat Thee to pray to Him to Illumine us and Save our souls.

Praise Him with tuneful cymbals; praise Him with loud cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Preacher of Christ, as Thou bore the Glory of the Cross, O Paul, Thou sincerely preferred Divine Love and everything greatly beloved that binds lovers to the object of their yearning and Love. Therefore Thou called Thyself a “Prisoner of Christ” and considered the suffering of every trial as being sweeter than all mundane delights. And Thou were granted the most honourable dissolution to be with Thy Master, Christ. Thus earnestly pray to Him to Illumine us and to Save our souls.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit

Praise Him for His Mighty Acts; praise Him according to the Greatness of His Majesty. When to the band of Twelve Apostles the Redeemer posed the question, saying unto them:

Who do people say that I Am?” it was St Peter, being pre- eminent of the Saviour Christ’s Disciples, who then received from Heaven Divine Grace, and in a loud voice, Theologising, proclaimed: “Thou art Christ, the Son of the Living God!” Hence he is worthily Beatified for receiving Revelation from on High and the Power of Binding and Loosing the sins of all.

Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; praise Him with lute and harp.

When Thou were Called – not by men but by the Most High – when the earthly darkness caused Blindness to come upon Thy physical eyes, manifesting thus to all the people the gloomy sullenness of impiety, then it was that all around Heavenly Light shone forth, dazzling the sight of Thy reasoning, and thus revealing

The third time our Lord Jesus revealed Himself to His Disciples after He had Risen from the dead, when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter: Simon, son of Jonah, do you Love Me more than these?”

He said to Him: “Yes, Lord, Thou know that I love Thee.”

He said to him: “Feed My Lambs.”

He said to him again a second time: “Simon, son of Jonah, do you Love Me?”

He said to Him:, “Yes Lord; Thou know that I love Thee.”

He said to him: “Tend My sheep.”

He said to him the third time:

Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?”

Peter was grieved because He asked him a third time: “Do you love Me?”

And he said to Him, “Lord, Thou know all things; Thou know that I love Thee.”

Truly, truly, I say to you: when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish to go.”

This He spoke, signifying by what death he would Glorify God.

And when He had spoken this, He said to him: “Follow Me!”

Then Peter, turning around, saw the Disciple whom Jesus Loved following, (who also had leaned on His Breast at the Supper and asked: “Lord, who is the one who betrays Thee?”)

Seeing him, Peter said to Jesus:

Lord, what about this man?”

Jesus said to him: “If I Will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me!”

Then this saying went out among the Brethren that this Disciple would not die.

Yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but: “If I Will that he remain until I come, what is that to you?”

This is the Disciple who testifies to these things, and wrote these things; and we know that his Testimony is True.

And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

Amen
