OBJECT: To understand the basic commands of Microstation for drawing an element, and editing it – open a new project and workspace, scale, units, 2D tool box, set attribute command, change attribute command, draw tool, select tool and edit commands. Also learn how to set the units of drawing, paper size, scale and open a 2D or 3D seed file. Hint: Open a 2D seed file. Duration: one turn 1. Draw a line of a length x, then extend it by an amount y, and then trim it by an amount z. 2. Select the above line, increase its thickness and change its style or type of line (solid to dash etc). 3. Select the above line, change its colour to red, and again to blue. 4. Draw a rectangle of any dimension, and change the colour of its lines. 5. Select any of its side, delete it, and redraw the same side in different colour. 6. Copy the above rectangle to another position. 7. Move the above rectangle to another location.

Draw a line and then draw a circle tangent to the line. 4. 3. Fill the circle with red colour and then change it to purple. fill it with red colour and then change it to yellow. and dimensioning command. determine area and perimeter. Place a sine curve with having “n” cycles and given amplitude and frequency. Place the dimensions above or below the dimension lines. and change its colour. Determine the perimeter and area of the above polygon and circle. 5. 2. Draw a polygon.Session 2011-12 DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ROORKEE ROORKEE CE 201 COMPUTER GRAPHICS PRACTICAL 2 – BASIC ELEMENTS OF MICROSTATION – 2D OBJECT: To understand the basic commands of Microstation for filling it with a colour. changing the colour. . Duration: two turns 1. 6. 8. mark the dimensions of each side of the rectangle. accu draw command and scale of the dimensioning text with respect to that of the drawing. Mark its radius inside the circle. Try various options of drawing dimension lines available in the software. 7. Draw a circle of any radius and center. Learn the snap command. Draw a rectangle.
