Theres no better time to be a bride in Atlanta than right now. From Buckhead to Downtown, the city is booming with celebrated new constructionand some of the biggest names stretching out our skyline have exclusive new event spaces ripe for the picking. anniversary next year, offers couples exclusive access to the Penthouse, the 49th and 50th floors of the 191 Peachtree Tower next door. THE SKINNY: Two 2,500-square-foot floors make a sweeping statement to guests, who access the space without ever having to go outside after entering the Ritz. The entire Ritz experience is picked up and moved next door, and there is truly no end to customization choices, including interactive sommeliers and mixologists and edible cocktailstraditional drinks in gelatin form served on a spoon. After the big send-off, guests make the short walk back to their rooms. THE SEXY: Used for ceremonies or as a pre-reception cocktail area, the 49th floor features floor-to-ceiling windows and a stately entry with Italian marble floors. A grand staircase connects to the 50th floora blank canvas reception space for brides who delight in dcor. THE SINGULAR: Seated dinners are served in style with the Ritzs signature synchronized service, a parade of waiters serving each guest in unison. THE CATCH: At press time, the Penthouse is only available for bookings through 2008. The Ritzs Grand and Plaza ballrooms are available year-round. BUCKHEAD CLUB
THE SCENE: Respected Buckhead business club makes a major move across Peachtree Road to the swanky new Sovereign building. The 3,000-squarefoot ballroom, on the 26th floor, opens October 1, but ambitious brides are already booking. THE SKINNY: The full-service operation is attuned to every detail from valet parking to the coffee station at the end of the evening, accommodating up to 170 guests for seated dinners or 200 for cocktail receptions. Customize your linens to match wedding colors, or create your cake with award-winning pastry chefs. Theyll leave entertainment, photography and flowers to you. THE SEXY: The ultra contemporary ballroom boasts a built-in bar with mahogany woods and elegant wall coverings, but the wall of floor-to-ceiling windows seals the scenic deal, with panoramic views of Atlanta. THE SEXY: Floor-to-ceiling windows allow expansive views of Downtown, Midtown and as far out as Stone Mountain. Looking for a sunny spot for a Sunday brunch before guests depart? Get WET, Ws outdoor pool and deck area. THE SINGULAR: The Ws trademark Whatever/Whenever service leaves no whim unfulfilled. Want a dim sum station? Absolutely. Cake stuck in traffic? No worries. When this problem popped up at another W outpost, the staff hired a helicopter to deliver the cake safely to the reception.
