Indexation/Normalisation
Indexation A multi-analysis management tool has been included in Malcom to perform an easy and automatic comparison of chromatograms. The indexation proceeds as a “blind” identification by detecting the peaks in common in all the chromatograms of a project, allowing a direct and straightforward similitude evaluation of your analyses.
©

Normalisation Malcom automatically calculates the peak heights ratio matrix in a single click, leading to a “normalisation” of your data in order to overcome relative abundance differences between samples.

Data editor
Rapid and effective organisation of data is paramount. All data analysis and interpretation results are saved into dedicated spreadsheet-type editors. An easy access to data is achieved using a concise thumbnail system. It is also possible to perform mathematical operations and statistical evaluations directly from the menu of the data editor. Malcom is fully compliant with Excel ; import or export of data can be achieved in a single click.

Integration
Integration is one of the most important steps in data analysis and consists in determining the area, as well as other measurements on chromatographic peaks (height, retention time, etc.). The Malcom integration tool produces the most accurate results with an improved peak detection capability through proprietary algorithms.

All modifications can be performed directly on the graphs with the mouse (valley positioning, baseline, peak addition and deletion, etc).

Chain process/Python editor
Automated signal processing is useful to manage large quantities of data repeatedly. Preprogrammed modules and Python language have been harnessed to work inside Malcom . It is incredibly powerful, yet very simple.

Deconvolution.
Huge gain of accuracy

Dcv id

The deconvolution module is an innovative functionality that provides quantitative results with a high level of accuracy. Its advantages are particularly suitable for petroleum fluid chromatograms that show stronglycoeluted compounds.

Single channel

St

This innovative tool separates the contribution of each component as if it were alone in the mixture, to get precise, quantitative results on strongly coeluted cuts.

Malcom provides the most likely results, but the user can still perform modifications directly on the graphs.

Identification.
Ascertain the identity of your crude oil components

Dcv id

Without Malcom , the identification of hydrocarbons in petroleum fluids using gas chromatography is particularly tedious and time consuming since the number of compounds is very high.

©

With the identification module, hundreds of compounds can be automatically, accurately and rapidly identified on GC & GC-MS analyses.

Single channel • A dynamic and shared database • Sharing of cumulative information will allow you to has been incorporated in this save time and improve the module, enabling the ready relevance of your analysis. saving of new compounds, which are then available for future analysis. • On GC analyses, the identification module is retention time tolerant. • The traceability of every identified compound is easily available via the dynamic database.

St MxR

Automated identification coupled with integration on a GC-FID data

Multi channel* In addition to single channel features, the identification module is able to recognise the compounds from their mass spectra. For compounds which have similar mass spectra, the multi channel identification module can also rely on the retention time characteristics to ensure their seperate identities.

Calibration* The response of the detector coupled with the gas chromotography column depends on the nature of the compounds. This problem is especially critical for GC-MS data. To transform the area of each detected compound to a quantitative amount, the dynamic database stores the response factors of each identified compound. All the facilities to determine the response factors are also available

Mixture Resolution.
Allocate commingled streams

Dcv id

The interpretation of oil GC fingerprints allows you to monitor the trends of production in various oil fields and to estimate the allocation of production to individual layers in commingled wells. The mixture resolution is based on the exact equations corresponding to the physics of the mixtures and on rigorous propagation of the uncertainties. It provides the contribution of different oils in an unknown mixture on the basis of chromatograms of each sample.

St MxR

Scheme of Commingled wells

The Mixture resolution can be used for binary mixtures and ternary mixtures, with appropriate displays. It can also provide numerical results for mixtures including more

than three oils. The confidence intervals about the results are systematically included.
