Working in 50 developing countries across Asia, Africa and the Americas, Plan aims to reach as many children as possible, particularly those who are excluded or marginalized with high quality programs that deliver long lasting benefits by increasing its income, working in partnership with others and operating effectively. The person will be responsible for facilitation to community in CDPs, Implementation, monitoring, capacity building of communities with respect to their rights.

Dimensions of Role: See Section 7a • • • • • • Sponsorship Sensization & Capacity Building of communities with respect to CRC. Linkage development of CBO’s with govt & non-govt departments / organizations Formation of CDPs & UCDPs and Child Protection Committees. CBO Registration. Awaring the community about their rights.

Communications and Working Relationships: See Section 7d • All sort of communication related to community / filed level is required.

What does the post holder oversee? • “Getting to Know Plan and communities” sessions with key community leaders conducted to introduce Plan, emphasizing the role of sponsorship and childe centered programming. • The formation of children’s and adults development forums. The design and facilitation of capacity building activities that address organizational shortcomings in these forums. • The identification and training of children and adult volunteers for sponsorship and program activities. • The gathering of gender disaggregated baseline data as and when needed. Ensuring that this data is available for community planning. • The participatory process of community development planning, negotiate and agree which projects Plan will commit to fund and include in the PU budget. • That Project Outlines, progress and completion reports are entered into the corporate monitoring system (PPM). PO files • The annual participatory community reviews ensuring that community development plans and sponsorship communications are updated accordingly. • That appropriate feasibility studies are carried out when new initiatives are piloted. • That the selection of families, to be affiliated for sponsorship, follows criteria, collection of sponsorship information and with active participation of children and community representatives. • That children and their families are involved in the production of sponsorship communication. Reviews and validates sponsorship items received, ensuring that the approved sponsorship caseload is maintained. • That visiting sponsors are adequately oriented, always accompanied, and that the Plan Child Protection Policy is adhered to. Prepare and submit visit reports within prescribed period.
