For Immediate Release Scott Ploof Announces Candidacy for State Representative, House District 73 Scott Ploof is officially announcing his candidacy for State Representative in House District 73. As an undergraduate at Southeastern, Scott has participated in numerous student organizations and was elected to a variety of leadership positions including: Supreme Court Justice in the Student Government Association; Vice President, Secretary and Public Relations Chair of Theta Chi Fraternity; President and Communications Director of the Southeastern College Democrats; and Secretary for the Greek Inter-Fraternity Council. Through Southeastern, he has participated in numerous community service activities such as fundraising drives, activities for the Boys and Girls Club of Hammond, and clothing/commodity drives for the victims of the Tsunami of Southeast Asia and needy members of our community. It is through education that we can provide true opportunity to our people, which will ultimately drive our economy and reduce poverty and crime rates. The decisions made by our legislators will determine the quality of life of the people in our region. We need someone that will work to ensure a healthy and prosperous workforce that will fulfill the needs of the people and our economy. The only way we can achieve this is by electing a representative that is there to advance our

communal causes rather than their own self-interests. I believe everyone should be afforded an equal opportunity to build and sustain healthy, prosperous lives. I sincerely care about people and I think my record and reputation affirms that. “
