(Continuing the thought)

SFX: BOTH LAUGHING. RAMON BITES HIS APPLE. RAMON:
(He bites his apple)
Unfortunately everything must come to an end.
CLAUDIA:
(Concerned)

SHOW DEVELOPMENT CLAUDIA:
(Concerned)

RAMON:
 Yes, why?
CLAUDIA:

Well I heard you saying… “

RAMON:
 I was referring to my apple.
It’s my favorite fruit. And now, I’m out of apples and
wish I could afford more.
CLAUDIA:
 
Here…I have one fresh from the farmer’s market…would you like it?
 
RAMON:
Thanks.
 (He bites the apple)
 
CLAUDIA:
 If you
can’t
 afford more, have you checked out SNAP?
RAMON:
SNAP?
CLAUDIA:
 SNAP is the new name for the Food Stamp Program. They give you help so you
can buy good, healthy foods …vegetables, meats, and even apples.
(
We kept apples since this is
the first time we establish Ramon’s character and
 that he loves apples. Also, apples are not seasonal.)
RAMON:
 
I don’t think I qualify. I own my house and I live with my daughter and grandson.
CLAUDIA:
 You might. SNAP is a program to help people. If
you don’t apply…you’ll never
know.
