    (Degreasing, derusting and anti-rust phosphate coating all the three-in-one process)

    DESCRIPTION: METALPREP is a versatile single stage pretreatment solution for metals such as iron, steel,
    aluminum and galvanized metal. It is intended for efficient removal of existing rust and prevention of further rusting.

    BENEFITS: Treatment with METALPREP renders the metal free of grease, oil, rust and scale and it deposits a
    chemically converted thin phosphate film, which provides an excellent base to the paint. This treatment helps to stops the
    spreading of under film corrosion and thereby preventing paint blistering and flaking. Thus, the treatment with
    METALPREP renders the metal better resistance towards corrosion and hence gives a durable painted life.

    METHOD OF USE: METALPREP solution is diluted with water and then either it is applied by brush, swab or by
    immersion.

    A) WIPING METHOD: Apply the solution liberally on the metal surface treating small area at a time. Brush
    the solution with steel wire brush or cotton swab, scrubbing well if there are appreciable amounts of oil or
    corrosion to be removed. Allow the METALPREP to act on the surface until it is free from oil and rust. This
    normally takes a few minutes but up to 20 minutes may be necessary if the surface is badly corroded. If the surface
    begins to dry before cleaning is completed, apply some more solution and brush it till the surface is uniformly
    covered. When all the rust has been removed, thoroughly wipe the surface with a clean dry rag and allow it to dry.

    B) IMMERSION METHOD: Fill METALPREP in acid resisting tank such as PVC,PP,Polyethylene, FRP etc.
    Dip the metal components in the bath for 5 to 20 minutes till the contamination such as rust, scale and oil are
    completely removed. Remove components from the bath and excess solution sticking to them should be expelled
    by compressed air or by wiping. Before painting they should be allowed to dry completely. If the metal
    components are heavily soiled with oil, a pre-cleaning in solvents such as kerosine,petrol,mineral turpentine or
    emulsion cleaner is recommended. If the metal components are heavily pitted with rust and scales, a pre cleaning
    in derusting and descaling agents based on HCl is recommended.

    BATH MAINTANANCE: The oil and other contamination floating on the FERROPHOS bath is skimmed and removed
    periodically. The FERROPHOS bath, on prolonged usage, gets contaminated becomes turbid and saturated with dissolved
    iron. Consequently, the time of derusting drastically comes down in spite of adding more quantity of METALPREP. Under
    these conditions the entire bath must be discarded and a fresh bath is to be prepared.
