Time Management Analysis Name: ________________________

How did you spend your time?

 Look over the blue time log that you kept and analyze how you spent your time last
week.
 How many hours did you spend on average on the following activities every day?
Some activities may not apply to all people.
 Answer all questions that apply to you—all activities that you did for approximately
30 minutes per day on average.

1. Sleep: __________ hours per day on average

2. School: __________ hours per day on average

3. Homework: __________ hours per day on average

4. Watching TV: __________ hours per day on average

5. Talking on the phone/texting: __________ hours per day on average

6. Being on the computer/internet: __________ hours per day on average

7. Playing video games: : __________ hours per day on average

8. Playing Sports: __________ hours per day on average

9. Work/Job: __________ hours per day on average

10. Other: __________ hours per day on average (Activity: _______________________________________)

To figure out a mathematical average:

Step 1: Add up all of the hours you spent on one activity on a particular day. Do this for the
same activity for every day of the week.

Step 2: Add together the hours you calculated in Step 1.

Step 3: Divide the total you got in Step 2 by the number of days you did the particular
activity.

Now that you have done all of the math, take a moment to think about the ways you
used you time. Things like school are pretty much set in stone and the time you spend here
can't be changed, but other things are definitely under your control. For example, do you
really need to spend 3 hours watching the Mariner's game when you have a book to read
for language, math problems to do, and a history worksheet to finish?

In the space below, answer the following questions.

1. Did anything surprise you about the way you spent your time? If so, what? If not, why
not?

2. As a result of what you found, are you planning to spend more time on any particular
activity? If so, which one and why? If not, why not?

3. As a result of what you found, are you planning to spend less time on any particular
activity? If so, which one and why? If not, why not?
