Joss was originally from the Thames Valley in England. After leaving school he joined the
Merchant Navy and trained as an Engineer Officer working on board commercial vessels.
In 1983 he relocated to the South of France and made the transition from the Merchant
Navy into yachting as Chief Engineer. In 1996 he secured his first Captain’s position.
Joss has been on board BATON ROUGE since the build; he has excellent sailing, safety,
managerial, leadership, organisational and decision making skills and has a wealth of
knowledge regarding this fine vessel. He undertakes the training of all crew members with
utmost care.
Joss still resides in the South of France with his wife, three sons and most importantly his
pride and joy – a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback! He is a dedicated follower of motor sports
and the Grand Prix Circuit and if time permits he enjoys relaxing by the pool with his family.

Rob was originally from the south coast of England. His passion for sailing developed at a
very young age. He has been involved in dinghy, yacht and power boat racing and in
2000 he held the World & National Water Speed records for the fastest circumnavigation of
the Isle of Wight; he also holds four other national water speed records in Formula 2 R.I.B.
boats in the same year.
Rob studied Marine Navigation at university and subsequently taught navigation and boat
handling in the UK and worked for Sunseeker UK conducting charters for corporate clients.
After obtaining his Master 3000 qualification Rob joined BATON ROUGE in 2011 as the Chief
Officer and two years later he joined Joss as rotational Captain.
Rob is exceedingly knowledgeable about BATON ROUGE, her cruising areas and as with
Joss is a highly-valued Captain for his safety, managerial and organizational skills.

Jack grew up in the seaside town of Swanage on the Isle of Purbeck in the UK and from an
early age he developed a love of the sea and the great outdoors. Jack has been in the
yachting industry for ten years and is an excellent right-hand man to the Captain,
overseeing all deck operations and maintenance. He has sailed across every ocean to
some of the world’s most remote and idyllic areas, many of which are only accessible by
boat. He has been fortunate to experience many ‘once in a life time moments’ -
swimming with Humpback whales, diving with Hammerheads and Manta Rays.

Jack brings with him a great deal of experience and knowledge and he is always
delighted to take guests out to explore the anchorage and to show our guests the beauty
of the area.

Chef – Ben Reeve

Ben joins us from Aberdeen in Scotland. He has over ten years’ experience working in
kitchens of several Michelin Star Restaurants including Chez Bruce and Texture, both of
which are in London. Similarly Ben has also combined his passion for food and travel by
working his way around Australia in 2012. As well as working in restaurants Ben has also
spent time as a Head Chef in various residences around America and the UK.

BATON ROUGE was Ben’s first yacht, and after leaving in 2014 he worked on other yachts
and in restaurants. BATON ROUGE welcomes Ben back after his recent endeavours. Ben
enjoys the outdoors and loves nothing more in his free time than to be active and keep fit,
he likes snowboarding, Crossfit, mountain biking and surfing. When he needs to relax he
enjoys reading.

Sous Chef – Daniel Kedie

Dan is from the historic city of York, in the north of England, and from a young age he
enjoyed cooking and exploring a variety of cuisines. Dan has worked in the UK and
Australia and has over ten years’ experience in the restaurant business. He spent three
years working at the renowned Michelin starred restaurant Chez Bruce, in London, and for
two years he held the position of head pastry chef.

During his time in Australia Dan set up and ran a successful café/bakery in Sydney. In the
summer of 2018, Dan was after his next adventure and the opportunity to work on BATON
ROUGE came knocking on his door! In his spare time he enjoys exploring new
restaurants, hiking, rock climbing.

Chief Stewardess – Georgia Johnston

Georgia was born in London and grew up in Shropshire. After leaving school Georgia spent
a few months working for her parent’s publishing company but decided that the 9-5
lifestyle wasn’t for her and quickly headed to Antibes to pursue her ‘yachting’ career!
Since 2009 Georgia has worked on both private and charter yachts, cruising the
Mediterranean and Caribbean extensively. She has experienced some amazing
opportunities along the way, including jet skiing with Orcas in Alaska, crossing through the
Panama Canal and swimming in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Georgia always ensures quality service and is fastidious with her attention to detail, along
has strong work organizational skills. She brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and
creative flair and planning to ensure that your holiday aboard BATON ROUGE is
memorable.

Rachael grew up on a farm in the English countryside. On turning eighteen she moved to
the seaside town of Bournemouth to study graphic design. In her free-time, when she
wasn’t studying, Rachael spent many hours sailing and windsurfing. In 2013, after
graduating, Rachael decided to join the yachting industry. Rachael initially joined BATON
ROUGE in 2014 and re-joined us in 2016 after spending a year on M/Y Astra. She has had
the opportunity to travel to some faraway destinations including the Galapagos Islands.
Rachael’s previous experience and lively personality will ensure that our guests’ needs are
exceeded.

Nadine grew up in New Zealand. After leaving school she worked in the pharmacy and
beauty industry for seven years and then a further three years in insurance.
Her wanderlust for travel and yachting was inspired through many friends already working
in the yachting industry, and so she decided to follow suit and joined her first yacht in 2015.
Nadine brings enthusiasm and willingness to our team and will be always happy to assist
our guests during their stay on BATON ROUGE.

Mimi is from the seaside town of Brighton, on the south coast of England. After completing
college Mimi worked in childcare and also the hospitality sector. In order to further her
hospitality career she moved into the yachting industry. She is a polite and bubbly
individual and is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our guests aboard BATON
ROUGE are comfortable and happy.

Juliette grew up on a farm in the McKenzie country, on the south island of New Zealand.
She graduated in 2017 from the University of Otago with a Bachelors of Commerce in
International Business with Mandarin. She also achieved a diploma in Asian Culture and
Chinese Language. Juliette is a vibrant and enthusiastic individual, and embraces new
opportunities to challenge herself. Juliette will be sure to cater for your needs confidently
and efficiently.

Hannah grew up in Mount Maunganui, a popular beach town located on the north island
of New Zealand.
Hannah studied sport and exercise science at the University of Auckland, following her
degree she completed two ski seasons one in New Zealand and another in Colorado.
In 2018 Hannah decided that her love for travel and the ocean could be the perfect
starting point for a new career.

Nic grew up in Poole on the South Coast of England where his passion for the ocean, and
in particular his love of sea fishing developed. Nic has been working in the yachting
industry for more than six years and has his Chief Mates ticket and is currently working
towards his Master 3000.
Nic has strong leadership and communication skills and is excellent at directing the deck
crew and giving full support to both the Captain and First Officer. If you are interested in
any fishing expeditions whilst on board BATON ROUGE Nic is only too happy to assist.

Jules spent his childhood between St Thomas and the UK but is now based in the South of
France where he lives with his family. Jules has been on board BATON ROUGE since the
build and as a result knows the boat and its engineering system inside out. Jules is a most
highly competent and efficient engineer who always ensures that the mechanical and
electrical operations are run without a hitch.

When not in the engine room Jules is more than delighted to talk to guests about the
engineering system!

Chief Engineer – Christian Rasmussen

Christian is from Denmark, though he currently resides in Lima, Peru. His ambition from a
young age was to become an engineer and through will-power and hard graft that
ambition was finally realised. He has had a variety of engineering positions including five
years as a marine engineer, nine years working on an oil rig as maintenance supervisor
before moving into the yachting industry. He has previously worked on board ICON a sister
ship to BATON ROUGE.

Christian has excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and
enjoys good interaction with guests.

Gustavo is Uruguayan and lives, when not on board BATON ROUGE, in Punta Del Este. He
joined BATON ROUGE four years ago after spending three years working aboard
commercial ships. He undertook four years of training at the Naval Academy in
Montevideo. He has excellent electrical and mechanical skills. Gustavo has travelled
extensively and is a very keen fisherman and if not in the bowels of the boat will be
delighted to take guests out for a fishing expedition.

Owen grew up in Glasgow, Scotland. He has worked as a marine engineer from the age
of sixteen, initially working on oil rigs in the North Sea. He made the move from
commercial shipping to the yachting industry two years ago. In his spare time Owen
enjoys running, playing football as well as being an passionate Celtic fan!

Chris grew up in the South of England, he spent many seasons working in ski resorts
worldwide. Upon returning home he originally trained as a hydraulic technician and two
years ago he transferred his skills to working aboard motor yachts. Chris is currently
working towards his next engineering certificate. He is an enthusiastic crew member and
ensures that all safety and operational procedures are followed.

Rowan grew up in the heartland of Twickenham, London so it goes without saying that he
is particularly keen on rugby. Rowan is an energetic and professional member of the
crew. He’s extremely diligent in the jobs that are assigned to him and definitely shows
signs that his ambition of becoming a captain could be materialised! Rowan has
exceptional tender driving skills and competency. He is a qualified windsurfer instructor
and would be delighted to teach any of our guests during their stay on board BATON
ROUGE.

Ryan is from Mount Maunganui in New Zealand. Growing up Ryan worked at his local surf
life saver club as well as spending every free minute in the ocean.
After graduating from Waikato University with a Business Degree, he travelled across
Europe and this is where he decided to stay and pursue a new adventure aboard
superyachts.
If you need any help with riding the water toys or getting up on a wakeboard, Ryan is your
man for the job!

Marteinn is from Reykjavik, Iceland but spent his school years in South Africa. Marteinn
decided that university was not for him and headed to the South of France where he
quickly found his first job in yachting. He joined BATON ROUGE in early 2017. He is a keen
and willing crew member and always willing to undertake any new challenges that are
asked of him. He is a keen footballer and an avid Arsenal Fan!

Ollie is from Southend on Sea on the east coast of England. From a young age Ollie could
be found in the water, either swimming for a race team, or sailing and surfing. After
leaving school in 2016 he spent the summer in Greece working as a windsurf and sailing
instructor teaching clients with a wide range of abilities. In March 2018 after completing a
cadetship Ollie gained his first job onboard a superyacht cruising the Mediterranean.
Though fairly new to the yachting industry he is eager to learn and evolve his skills. As well
as his love of water sports on dry land Ollie enjoys to snowboard and kickbox.
