Overview of the lesson: Lesson started with the teacher ensemble the students unto a circle.
She proceeds by asking them to pair up with another student. The concept of division was
explained to the students. Additional examples were given using PowerPoint.
The lesson continued with game using an oversize dice with each side equal to a group number.
Each group had a division question on their desk which the class solve together. The students
appear to have enjoyed the activity.
Individually, the students completed a worksheet. The two puzzle worksheets were very creative.
In one, the students had to solve and draw a pictorial representation of the division. On the other
worksheet, students solve and color the answer.
The lesson was differentiated with various groups working on different activities. Group four used
manipulatives to help them solve the division problems. Group one worked almost independently
without the teacher’s help
Lesson was very student centered and well facilitated by the teacher.
