R.
Kelly,was indicted Wednesday on
21
counts
of
child pornography.The indictment returned by a Cook County Grand Jury this morning charges that Kellyvideotaped various sex acts with a minor female sometime between November
of
1997 andthis past February.The indictment charges that Kelly, 35, knew
or
should have known that the girl was born
in
September
of
1984 and, therefore, was a minor
at
tne time
of
these sex acts."Sexual predators are a scourge on society," Devine said. "This indictment should send aclear message
that
illicit acts with minor children will not be tolerated
in

our entire community," said Superintendent Hillardat a news conference. "Everyone must be held accountable for their own personal conduct.That is today's message."Kelly is charged with seven counts
of
directing the videotaping, seven counts
of
producingthe video and seven counts
of
soliciting
or
enticing the girl into having these illicit acts.The sexual acts that are the subject
of
this indictment allegedly took place
in
Kelly's home
in
the 1000 Block
of
West George Street, in Chicago.These charges are Class 1 felonies, punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a fine
of
upto $100,000. The investigation
of
these acts continues. A warrant was issued Wednesdayfor Kelly's arrest.
