The Delaney Muisener ssistance Fund

Tim & Elise Muisener’s daughter
Delaney was born on March 13, 2005 six weeks premature. She lost oxygen and was revived twice after delivery. Subsequently, she was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at U-Conn Health Center for three months. Shortly after being discharged Delaney was diagnosed by a neurologist as having cerebral palsy which is a non-progressive, incurable condition where an injury to the brain prohibits control of bodily movement. Her condition is managed by several daily medications as well as regular visits to a team of doctors including a neurologist in Rochester New York. After a year of design and proper fitting Delaney now has a custom wheelchair to enhance her mobility. With the blessing of the wheelchair comes a new challenge, transportation. It is difficult with Delaney at age eight for her family to safely transfer her from the chair to a car seat. Physical therapists have advised her parents that the best solution is to acquire a handicapped accessible van where Delaney can remain safe and comfortable when traveling together as a
family. The Hartford Firefighters Emerald Society has created an assistance fund in Delaney’s
honor in order to raise enough money to purchase a suitable handicapped accessible van to reduce some of her everyday burdens. Please help support this worthy cause by contributing to
