are educated, respected professionals in their communities. They have spent years serving their communities in their professions and building positive reputations. Motorcycle Riders are aware that you have engaged in spreading false, destructive, and defamatory rumors about them.Under Texas law, it is unlawful to engage in defamation of anyone’s character and reputation. Defamation consists of(1) statements that tends to injure a living person's reputation;(2) expressed in written or other graphic form; and(3) thereby exposing the person to public hatred, ridicule, or financial injury.Your defamatory actions involved under the color of law, your support of the Waco Police Departmentspress releases that claimed that average American Motorcycle Riders are gang members with alleged criminal organization connections and were meeting at Twin Peaks to engage in a war over territory and recruitment. These allegations were released publicly with you having full knowledge of, or shouldhave had full knowledge of the scheduled COCI political meeting these motorcycle riders were attending. This verbal assault on the motorcycling community has caused damage that continues to increase. Accordingly, we demand that you (A) immediately cease and desist your unlawful defamation of Motorcycle Riders, (B) within thirty (30) days retract publicly the statements through every media outlet that carried the slanderous libel claims, and (C) provide us with prompt written assurance that you will cease and desist from further defamation of Motorcycle Riders’ character and reputation.If you do not comply with this cease and desist demand within this time period, Motorcycle Riders in a class action joint effort are entitled to seek monetary damages and equitable relief for your defamation. In the event you fail to meet this demand, please be advised that Motorcycle Riders in a class action  joint effort will pursue all available legal remedies, including seeking monetary damages, injunctive relief, and an order that you pay court costs and attorney’s fees.
