Monique Rathbun sued Stephen Gregory Sloat, Ed Bryan, Church of ScientologyInternational, David J. Lubow, and Monty Drake (collectively, “the Scientology Defendants”)alleging causes of action for intentional infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy by publicdisclosure of private facts and by intrusion on seclusion, and tortious interference with contract. Inthis accelerated appeal, the Scientology Defendants challenge the trial court’s denial of their motionsto dismiss the claims against them pursuant to Chapter 27 of the Texas Civil Practice and RemediesCode, a statute entitled “Actions Involving the Exercise of Certain Constitutional Rights” and termedthe “Texas Citizens Participation Act.”
