is a journalist and professor of history at Dominican University, in River Forest, IL. He is a columnist for

, and has written for many other publications. Perry is the father of a ten-year-old boy with Down syndrome.

Timotheus “T.J.” Gordon, Jr.
is a doctoral student and 2016-17 Illinois LEND and UCEED Diversity Fellow at the University of Illinois at Chicago; he is pursuing a Ph.D degree in disability studies, focusing on means of promoting autistic acceptance and culture in the African Diaspora (including African-American communities). He advocates for combating police brutality against people of color with disabilities and saving special education in public schools. Gordon is also an autistic self-advocate, writer, and creator of

. The Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN)is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run by and for autistic people. ASAN seeks to advance the principles of the disability rights movement with regard to autism. ASAN believes that the goal of autism advocacy should be a world in which autistic people enjoy the same access, rights, and opportunities as all other citizens. Kristina Kopić
is the Advocacy Content Specialist at the Ruderman Family Foundation. Some of her chief research and pedagogic interests lie in deconstructing social constructs that govern cultural norms and behavior

in particular the constructs of race, gender, and disability. She comes to advocacy from the field of academia where she taught rhetoric and research. She has worked on all the previous Ruderman White Papers in various capacities. In this one, she is responsible for the demographic analysis.
Vilissa Thompson
Vilissa Thompson, LMSW is a macro social worker and disability rights consultant, writer, and advocate. She is the founder of Ramp Your Voice!, an organization focused on promoting self-advocacy and empowerment among people with disabilities. Vilissa is afforded the opportunity to be a leader and expert in addressing and educating the public about the plight of people with disabilities, particularly women of color.
