TUESDAY, JULY 25, 2017 AT 9:06:17 A.M. THE COURT:
Let’s go to page 13. Okay. And that is S
tate of Nevada versus Reed Anthony Norris, and that is case number C323851-1. Would you announce your appearances for the record, please? MR. ROBISON: James Robison on behalf of Mr. Norris who is present and in custody. MS. BENEDICT: Susan Benedict for the State. THE COURT: Okay. And this is the time set for sentencing. Are we ready to proceed? MR. ROBISON: We are.
THE COURT: Okay. Mr. Norris, I see you’re in front of a microphone. I need
you to use your coach voice if you know what I mean. THE DEFENDANT: All right.
THE COURT: All right. Sir, I’ve got a guilty plea agreement in front of me
which was filed in open court on June 2
nd
of 2017 indicating that you would agree to plead guilty to committing the crime of Attempt Burglary, a Category C Felony in Violation of NRS 205.060, 193.330. Sir, did you sign this agreement? THE DEFENDANT: Yes, I did. THE COURT: Prior to signing this agreement did you have an opportunity to review the agreement; did you review it and understand the terms?
THE DEFENDANT: Yes, ma’am.

complete the regimental discipline or boot camp and if you graduate and successfully complete boot camp the State has no opposition to you thereafter being accorded probation, the State also would not oppose dismissal of case number 17F08728X after rendition of sentence. And you agree to pay restitution to all victims and

boy, this is a gift. If you successfully complete probation and receive an honorable discharge you could withdraw your plea and plead guilty to a misdemeanor. That is quite a gift. And that would be with credit for time served. There are other agreements set forth within the guilty plea agreement but those are the highlights. And, Mr. Robison, I think that he needs to send you a gift basket.
I’d like to hear from the State.
MS. BENEDICT: I will submit it on those negotiations. THE COURT: He should send you gift basket too. MS. BENEDICT: Well, not me but Ms. Digiacomo perhaps
MR. ROBISON: Your Honor, we’re standing by that negotiation. If the Court’s
inclined to follow it to remind you

does have a stable home and support structure to come back to once he’s done the

gram. I’ve advised him how important it is for him to earn the reduction. He understands he’s to earn it and then he’ll have to contact our office in order to get it
back on after what we anticipate would be his successful completion of probation.
THE COURT: Okay. Sir, do you have anything you’d like to say to me?
 THE DEFENDANT: No, thank you.
THE COURT: Okay. You know, you’re very young. And you do know that
