Dear Whole Foods Team Members,We are writing to you today as a group of WFM Team Members who have grown concerned about our work environment and job expectations. We are sending this letter to every buyer and specialist alias and as many TMs as possible within all WFM regions and stores.In the last three years, we have experienced layoffs, job consolidations, reduced labor budgets, poor wage growth, and constantly being asked to do more with fewer resources and now with less compensation. Store leadership, regional/global executives and coordinators now receive Amazon stock options. Prior to the merger, full-time TMs received similar stock option benefits from WFM. Jeff Bezos should not have earned 150 billion dollars while the majority of his workers live paycheck to paycheck and do not receive profit sharing. The clandestine nature of Amazon offering stock options to Store Leadership without informing TMs is beyond problematic. It is insulting and unethical.We believe WFM Team Members deserve a private, secure space to share our experiences, ideas and concerns about working for WFM. We aim to provide a welcoming community environment that is anonymous where Team Members can feel comfortable expressing themselves without fear of losing their job. We have titled this community
