As the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on the San Antonio area increases, TheHousing Authority of Bexar County (HABC) remains committed to the health andwell being of our residents, staff, and community.We are actively following recommendations from the Center for Disease Controland Prevention (CDC) and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development(HUD) to help minimize the spread of infection.As a precautionary measure, in an effort to limit in-person contact asrecommended, we are asking our residents, landlords, community partners and thepublic to contact us by phone, email, or fax rather than in our physical ofces.
 Additionally, HABC will be implementing the following measures for residentsand HCV participantsIMPLEMENTED ACTIONS FOR HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHERS(SECTION 8) RESIDENTSEffective Monday, March 16, and until further notice
, HABC will implement thefollowing precautions to protect its residents:
Recertication deadlines will be extended
Closure of Section 8 lobby; clients should email or call
Suspension of inspections
Suspension of terminations
Suspension of voucher issuance for current and new clients
Suspension of moves and portabilities
Landlord payments will continue to processed but delays may occurResidents are encouraged to call HABC Hotline at 210-231-2043 or for the latestinformation, visit HABC’s website at

IMPLEMENTED ACTIONS FOR BEAR SPRINGS APARTMENTS ANDREMIGIO VALDEZ APARTMENTS.Effective Monday, March 16, and until further notice
, HABC will implement thefollowing precautions to protect its residents:
Suspension of Notices to Vacate and lease violations
Suspension of evictions for non-criminal activity
Suspension of transfers, move-ins, move-outs

Suspension of routine work orders
Suspension of housekeeping inspections
Suspension of late fees
Suspension of all resident activities
Closure of all property management ofces and community rooms; residentsshould email or call
Emergency work orders will require additional troubleshooting via phone calls
Existing repayment agreements will be extended
Recertication deadlines will be extended
Rent payments should be made either by mail
Resident phone contact will begin to aid in portal registration and relatedverications.
Pest control services will be conducted on the exterior of the buildings andcommon areas
Pest control services will temporarily be suspended in resident units.Residents are encouraged to call HABC’s Hotline at
