Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Lone Star Reimburse-
4
ment Act’’.

SEC. 2. FINDINGS; SENSE OF CONGRESS.

(a) F
INDINGS
.—Congress finds the following:
7
(1) The House of Representatives first recog-
8
nized the security of our Nation’s borders as a mat-

(2) .Operation Lone Star has led to over

348,000 illegal immigrant apprehensions and more
4
than 24,000 criminal arrests, with more than 22,000
5
felony charges reported
6
(3) Operation Lone Star is responsible for the
7
seizure of over 361 million lethal doses of fentanyl.

ONGRESS
.—It is the sense of Con-
9
gress that Operation Lone Star has been a tremendous
10
help to stem the tide of illegal immigration and its mem-
11
bers should be recognized for their efforts.

SEC. 3. REIMBURSEMENT.

Of amounts appropriated or otherwise made available
14
to the Department of Defense and the Department of
15
Homeland Security for fiscal year 2024, $2,200,000,000
16
from each such Department shall be expended in the form
17
of reimbursements to the State of Texas for the costs of
18
Operation Lone Star incurred in fiscal years 2022 and
19
2023.
