Course Policies and Procedures
Changes to Syllabus
This syllabus is provided for informational purposes regarding the anticipated course content and schedule of this course. It is based upon the most recent information available on the date of its issuance; it is as accurate and complete as possible. I reserve the right to make any changes I deem necessary and/or appropriate.
Attendance Expectations
Poor or late attendance, not attending for the full class time, or lack of preparation (in other words, not completing reading assignments or in-class activities) will adversely affect your grade in this course. Specifically, you are allowed to miss two (2) sessions without penalty, no explanation necessary. Any unexcused absence beyond two absences will result in a loss of activity points for that week’s class. Excused absences will automatically be granted for religious observances, military duty, medical emergencies, and pre-approved UNT-sponsored events.
Masking If you are sick, please wear a mask or reconsider coming to class.
UNT encourages everyone to wear a face-covering when indoors, regardless of vaccination status, to protect themselves and others from COVID infection, as recommended by current CDC guidelines. Face covering guidelines could change based on community health conditions.
Communication Expectations Please make sure to check Canvas course regularly for messages or announcements.
Please use Canvas to email me with any questions, concerns, or appointment requests. I will do my best to respond to your messages within 24 hours during the week (Monday - Friday). Due to family obligations, I may not be available by email on the weekend, so please plan accordingly. CLEAR has a webpage for students that provides Online Communication Tips that you can use when thinking about how to communicate with your instructors.
