Secretary U.S. Department of Homeland Security Washington, DC 20528 Dear Secretary Mayorkas: The Committee on the Judiciary is pleased to confirm your testimony at a hearing titled, “Oversight of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security” on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., in 2141 Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing will examine Department of Homeland Security programs and policies and the Department’s implementation of those programs and policies. We look forward to your  prepared testimony and your answers to the question posed by Members. In particular, to ensure that the Committee may effectively pursue its oversight of the Department’s immigration-related authorities, we ask that you please be ready to discuss in detail the Administration’s immigration  policies and programs, including but not limited to:
 
All policies and data related to Customs and Border Protection encounters, gotaways, paroles, and releases at the southwest border since January 20, 2021;
 
All policies and data regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests, removals, releases, and detention since January 20, 2021; and
 
All policies and data regarding the Department’s adjudication of immigration  benefits since January 20, 2021. Committee Members will also likely raise matters concerning the Department’s censorship efforts, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency, the Disinformation Governance Board, and related matters. We ask that you be fully prepared to discuss in detail these topics as well.
